2nd Grade

Your student's music program has been scheduled! It will be on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 6:30 pm. We will also have two day-time performances for the students.

Our program is called "We Celebrate Earth." It is a music program that will last about 20-25 minutes and tells the importance of taking care of our Earth.

This program is for ALL 2nd Grade students. It will be their only opportunity for performance this school year. If you know your student will not be at either the day-time performances or the evening performance, please let me know as soon as possible (TMartin@usd207.org).

On the evening of the program, students will need to be back at school between 6:15-6:20 p.m. and meet in their classrooms. Please have them give you any coats or jackets as they will not return to their classrooms.

Students will have the opportunity to volunteer for speaking lines. If students want a speaking line, they will receive one, likewise, if they do not want a speaking line, they will not receive one. Scripts will be passed out during music class. A copy of the script will be added to this website for your reference, but students have not been assigned yet. All lines will be need to be memorized (but I will be in front of the students if any of them forget!)

Costumes for this music program will depend on the students role in the program. Most of the students will be dressed in normal kid clothes. They can have shirts that have to do with Earth Day. If your student is an IGSS member (think Commanders on a Space Craft), they can dress according to their role.

The week following our program, we will be having a popcorn party in the music room and watch our performance on the SmartBoard. This is a great opportunity to reflect on our performance. If your student cannot have popcorn, please have them bring in a snack to enjoy while we watch our performance.
