Heights Happenings
Eastern Heights Elementary School, February 2024
February is a busy month here at Eastern Heights Elementary! We're looking forward to Valentine's Day and classroom parties on the 14th; be sure to keep an eye out for information from your student's classroom teacher. Parent - Teacher Conferences are from 3:30 - 7 on Thursday, February 22nd. The sign up link was shared on Class Dojo this morning and is in the email that includes this newsletter. Please be sure to sign up to see your student's teacher.
I would like to give a very special shout out to our Eastern Heights Elementary PTO for hosting a very special night for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students on January 26th. The Sno Ball was a full night of fun: dancing, pizza & snacks, crafts & a scavenger hunt along with lots of beautiful pictures. Want to be part of planning our 3rd-4th dance, scheduled for April 26th? Join us for our monthly PTO meetings, held on the first Thursday of every month at 6pm in the EHES Music Room.
We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events ~ be sure to see the calendar below for important dates. Thank you, Eastern Heights families, for supporting your students. While the school year may be more than half over, I feel like we're just getting started!

If there is significant precipitation ~ heavy snowfall, wet snow and/or rain ~ we will take this into consideration and if necessary, bring students inside at 8:50.
Please remind your students to stay out of the grassy areas around the building; the ground is very soggy!
Adult supervision of students begins at 8:50.
Thank you!
THE COUNSELOR'S CORNER
NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELOR'S WEEK
Join the Eastern Heights Elementary staff in thanking our incredible School Counselor, Mrs. Becka, for the support she offers our children. Did you know that she teaches classroom lessons every week to all students? She does this in addition to working with individual students and working with staff on classroom interventions and positive behavior supports.

EASTERN HEIGHTS CAMPUS TRAFFIC
Thank you for following our campus traffic rules and helping us keep our students & staff at arrival and dismissal. A few reminders:
- Please use crosswalks when walking your children to & from the building
- Please refrain from parking in the visitor's lot directly in front of the elementary entrance during arrival and dismissal
- There is no parking in the pickup lane during drop off or dismissal; this helps the flow of traffic move smoothly
- Cars should make only 1 lane of traffic on the campus (inside lane closest to the building); do not pull out and pass cars that are in the pick-up lane
- Drop-off & pickup your student using the spaces between the 2 orange cones directly in front of the building
Thank you for helping us make drop-off & pickup safety the #1 priority!
APPROVED SNACK LIST
Sending a special snack into your child's classroom? Please use the list below to help you. This our 23-24 Approved Snack List. We thank you in advance for selecting snacks from the list. This ensures the health & safety of our students and staff.
