Welcome to the SOMD College Fair!

This year, students are asked to register for the college fair on Strive Scan prior to attending the fair. This enables students to create a profile and then easily share their contact information with colleges of their choosing at the fair.

Students can register for Strive Scan online at Strive Fair - Registration. It shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes to register!

The day session will run from 10 AM - 1 PM. Students from local high schools will arrive on buses during their assigned timeslot:

• 10 - 11 AM: Northern High School, Huntingtown High School, Chopticon High School
• 11 AM - 12 PM: Patuxent High School, Great Mills High School, King's Christian Academy
• 12 - 1 PM: Calvert High School, St. Mary's Ryken High School, Leonardtown High School

The evening session of the college fair will run from 5 -7 PM. Parents and guardians are invited to attend this session.

Breakout Sessions:

• 5:15 - 5:45 PM: College Application Process presented by Jessica Piatt, Calvert High School Counselor
• 6:00 - 6:30 PM: Financial Aid Workshop (FAFSA) presented by Christian Zimmerman, Dean of Financial Assistance at CSM

The SAT and ACT are tests that students take in order to prepare for college applications. It's important to consult college admissions offices to check on test requirements and typical score requirements. Typically, we recommend that JUNIORS and SENIORS take the SAT and ACT. Generally, students take the SAT and/or ACT more than once to get their best scores.
