Crusader Chronicle
September 2024
Dear Crusader Families,
Starting the week of September 9, the Kindergarten-8th grade students will be completing Reading and Math MAP testing.
The students will take the MAP tests three times during the school year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). We ask that the students do their best on the test. Below are some great test-taking tips to review with your child. There is also a video below to watch and learn more about the MAP test and how it adapts to each student's ability level.
The results from the MAP tests will be sent home in the First Trimester Interim envelope. The envelopes will go home with the students on Friday, September 27. If there are questions once you review the results from the MAP test, please contact the classroom teacher and/or the school office.
The Crusader community is currently looking for the following help:
1. Afternoon Crusader Care- The Afternoon Crusader Care team is looking for additional help. They are looking for someone who wants to work part-time, plan fun activities for students, help students with their homework, and provide excellent care for the students after school. Pay is $15 per hour. If you are interested in the opportunity, please email me at SBitzer@sfdsleb.org.
2. Substitute Teachers- If you have a Bachelors degree and want to help the Crusader community cover classes when teachers are ill or have offsite meetings, please let me know. I would be happy to share additional information regarding substitute teacher expectations, pay, and how to receive a substitute teaching license. Please email me at SBitzer@sfdsleb.org.
As always, thank you for all you do to support the school!
Gratefully,
Sarah Bitzer
Principal
