The Lions Cafe ~ Before and After
Message from the Principals
The events at South Row are coming fast and furiously. Please consider volunteering and/or attending some of these well loved events. Volunteer opportunities are detailed below.
Please see the information just below this message. We are strongly encouraging all families to complete our Family Survey to provide us with valuable information that can help us better understand and support our community. We will have computers set up at school during upcoming events and will be encouraging families to take a few minutes to complete this important survey.
Have a great weekend!
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson
Family Survey through Panorama Education
Dear Chelmsford Families,
Our district values your feedback! We are currently surveying The Chelmsford Public Schools families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school and district's effectiveness. We also want to better understand barriers to families accessing our schools and programs. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We want to know what you think.
To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our 2024 Family Survey as we did in 2023 as well. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses anonymous. The survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us as we work to make our schools and district as good as they can be.
You may complete the survey online between Wednesday May 8th until Friday June 14th using a computer, tablet, or smartphone by visiting the website below:
https://surveys.panoramaed.com/chelmsfordma/family24/surveys
If you have multiple CPS school-aged children, please feel free to fill out multiple surveys to represent each individual child’s experience. The first question on the survey will be a dropdown to select which school you are filling the survey out for.
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact your building Principal.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Nurses Corner
Dear South Row Families,
Thank you so much for the flowers, cards, sign, and gifts for School Nurse’s Day! I am so fortunate to be part of this amazing community!
We are still seeing positive cases of strep. It has decreased but unfortunately it seems to be sticking around. Please keep in mind that stomachache, vomiting, and swollen glands can all be signs of strep as well as your typical sore throat and fever.
I am preparing the 4th grade files for middle school. If there is new information that you want to be sure the Parker Health Office has available to them, please let me know.
Warmly,
Nurse V.

Teacher Appreciation: Many, many, many thanks go out to all of the people who made the incredible teacher appreciation lunch happen. It was a truly magical day where we were able to celebrate all of the teachers, staff, administrators, and bus drivers that touch our kids' lives every day. Whether you baked desserts, made salad, purchased decorations from the Amazon wishlist, donated to the candy and tea bars, volunteered for setup, cleanup, or the lunch itself, or were part of the fabulous committee, you were an important part of making this event a success, and it does not go unnoticed!
Sunshine Dance: Our Sunshine Dance is coming up fast on May 18th from 6-8. This event is FREE for all to attend and will have a photo booth, face painting and a DJ to help you dance the night away. Wear what you feel comfortable dancing in but make sure each child is with a responsible adult (this is NOT a drop-off event). We could use a few helpers to help the dance run smoothly. If you are able to help out, please sign-up here. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080945ADA72AA7FA7-49554119-sunshine **Even though raffle tickets will be sold at the event, there is no requirement to purchase or participate in the raffle in order to attend the dance. Can't wait to see you there!
Basket Raffle: The rest of the details about the raffle including prices and how to purchase them will be sent home in backpacks next week. A huge thank you to Ashley and Michelle for coordinating the baskets and to all the parents who helped donate items, collect them, and wrap them up. They look AMAZING and truly ginormous! Pictures of each basket will be posted on the PTO Facebook page soon. If you attend the Sunshine Dance and win a basket, you can take it home that evening but you do not need to attend the dance to win. Good luck!!
June PTO Meeting: The PTO has been working hard to give the students and staff an extra special year at South Row. We have been happily surprised by the amount of financial support we have received this year. Thank you so much!!
We also work hard to make sure that everyone feels welcome and is a part of the community at South Row. After reviewing all the expenses and funds raised this year, the board has come up with an idea we would like to institute for the next school year and each year going forward, FREE South Row t-shirts for all incoming Kindergarteners. But the anticipated cost is greater than $250 so therefore we need your help to be able to implement this new idea.
ALL PARENTS/CAREGIVERS are invited to a very brief zoom-style meeting on Wednesday June 5th at 7pm. Our treasurer Courtney will present all the details about this new idea AND her evaluation of the budget/funds. There will be time for discussion if anyone present has questions. Once any questions have been answered we'll take a vote from all present to determine if we can move forward with this expense. We NEED AT LEAST 5 parents who are not part of the executive board in attendance to complete this vote. We would greatly appreciate if you could set aside a few minutes from your evening that day to help us out.
The virtual meeting link will be shared VIA EMAIL ONLY from Mrs. Gilbert the week of the meeting.
Any questions can be sent to SouthRowPTO@gmail.com.
