Welcome to the Career Spotlight!
As we embark on the 2024-2025 school year at Methacton School District, we’re excited to showcase career-related events that inspire and empower our students. From career fairs and workshops to guest speakers, these events connect students with industry professionals and help them envision their futures.

We’ve got an exciting line-up of career exploration events that will help students discover their passions, connect with industry professionals, and get a jumpstart on their futures! Here’s what’s coming up:
🎙️ Real Live Leaders Radio Show & Career Coaching
Spring 2025 – Tune in for career insights and real-world advice from top CEOs and professionals!
💡 Junior Achievement for 4th Grade
May 2025 – Empowering young minds with financial literacy and career exploration. All 4th Grade students participate during the school day.
🚐 Mobile Career Fair for All Methacton Elementary Schools
Spring 2025 – Bringing career exploration directly to our elementary students, featuring hands-on activities and industry professionals. All 2nd Grade students participate during the school day.
☕ Monthly Career Café at Skyview Upper Elementary School
Engage with local professionals in informal, hands-on career chats. All 5th and 6th grade students have the option to attended if interested. Announcements are shared monthly.
🚀 STEAM Day at Arcola Intermediate
Date: March 21, 2025 – Dive into the exciting world of science, tech, engineering, arts, and math!

Date: April 2, 2025 – Get expert advice and career guidance for the future ahead.

Join Us for the Methacton High School Job Fair – Volunteers Needed!
We are excited to announce the upcoming Job Fair at Methacton High School on April 4, 2025! This event will connect students with local businesses, offering valuable career exploration opportunities.
We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with event coordination, guide students, and support employers throughout the day. Your help will make this event a success and provide our students with a memorable experience.

Career Advisory
Thank you to everyone who attended our Fall 2024 Advisory Committee meeting at Methacton High School. We had a great turnout, including students, parents, educators, and community partners, who provided valuable feedback on our career programs. High school students also shared their experiences with the Real Live Leaders program.
Our next meeting is on April 4, 2025, at Skyview Upper Elementary. We welcome returning and new guests to continue shaping our career initiatives. See you there!

Join Us for a Financial Reality Fair at Methacton High School on April 23, 2025!
Montco Works and Police and Fire Federal Credit Union are partnering with us to host a Financial Reality Fair. We are seeking volunteers to join this fun and interactive event.
WHAT IS A FINANCIAL REALITY FAIR? A reality fair is a simulation of an adult’s financial life, providing students with an interactive experience in making real-world financial decisions and managing money. Students will gain a better understanding of budgeting, spending within their means, and the importance of saving for unexpected expenses. It’s an eye-opening, hands-on experience that helps students build financial knowledge and skills.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Would you like to get involved? No experience is necessary! Your role will be to support students in making realistic choices and assist with financial decisions based on their given budgets. Skyview Upper Elementary School Career Day ~ Friday, April 4, 2025
Skyview Upper Elementary School will host its 14th annual Career Day on Friday, April 4, 2025 and we need your help! Career Day is an exciting school-wide event that builds career awareness and offers students an up-close and personal view of a wide range of jobs in and around our community. The presentations of our alumni, parents, friends and community members spark student interest and allow them to develop an understanding of the skills necessary for various professions.
We know our community is filled with many talented people who have interesting careers. STEAM Day at Arcola Intermediate School
We're thrilled to announce Arcola's annual STEAM Day, happening on Friday, March 21, 2025!
Are you passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Math? We're looking for engaging presenters to share their knowledge and inspire our students.
This is a fantastic opportunity for:
- Professionals in STEAM fields
- Educators (including club sponsors for robotics, drama, science fair, electric car club, etc.)
- Anyone with a unique skill or project related to STEAM
We encourage you to share your talents, expertise, and passion with the next generation!

Real World Leaders
Exciting Opportunities for Methacton High School Students!
We’re excited to share that Methacton High School students recently connected with real-life CEOs through the Real World Leaders Radio Show, gaining valuable career insights and exploring future paths.
Looking ahead, we’ll be hosting more events this school year, including career coaching sessions and additional radio show opportunities. These events are designed to offer career guidance and networking with industry leaders.

Calling all Juniors: Pre-Career Course for Senior year.
Is your child interested in an internship while a MHS student?
Seniors are able to take a course called Pre- Career for either Semester 1 or 2. This will give Seniors an opportunity to intern at a place of their choice during the school day, all while earning school credits. Pre-education interested students may be placed with the assistance of the K-12 career counselor in respective Methacton Elementary Schools!
Pre-career applications are due by April of their Junior year. School counselors can assist students further with these requests.
Become a Volunteer Host for Methacton School District’s Pre-Career Activity!
Methacton School District invites professionals to host 12th-grade students for a career exploration program. This opportunity helps students gain real-world experience and make informed career choices.
Program Details:
- Credits: 0.5 per semester
- Total Hours: 40
- Grading: Pass/Fail
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Host Students: Offer a 40-hour experience in your profession.
- Mentorship: Guide students through tasks and projects.
- Supervision: Ensure students meet professional standards.
- Documentation: Verify student logs and progress.
Host Guidelines:
- Availability: Accommodate a student for 40 hours per semester.
- Engagement: Provide practical experiences and feedback.
- Communication: Coordinate with the K-12 Career Counselor.
- Safety: Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines.

Montco Presidential Symposium - Feb. 11, 2025
Montgomery County Community College is hosting Roberto Clemente Jr. as the Keynote Speaker on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at their Cultural Center Theater.
Roberto Clemente Jr. is a philanthropist, humanitarian, entrepreneur, and former professional baseball player. He’ll be speaking on Opportunity & Access and how to make a difference in the world.

Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement (JA) recently took place for 11th-grade students at Methacton High School, offering them an engaging experience through the JA Our Region program. This initiative deepened their understanding of entrepreneurship, regional economics, and real-world business concepts while fostering entrepreneurial thinking.
Looking ahead, JA will be implemented for 4th-grade students across the district in May 2025, introducing them to foundational economic and business principles. We’re excited to continue empowering our students with these valuable opportunities!
