FAC Weekly Update
December 8, 2023
Good Afternoon, FAC Family
We hope you had a terrific week! Our performance calendar for the first semester concluded in style today, as we celebrated the vibrant arts culture of our school through the Winter Showcases. Congratulations to all of the students who took the stage today to share their talents. Coming together as a school fills our hearts with joy.
Here's the latest from the halls of the FAC...
This Week's Student Leadership Lesson
3-2-1 Newsletter, from James Clear
3-2-1: Fans vs critics, the curse of jealousy, and the secret to living a full life
3."It's more fun to be a fan than a critic. I'm not looking to spend my life tearing things down, when it can be so satisfying to build things up."
2."Measure your success against others and you'll be unhappy when they win—and less likely to receive help from them due to your jealousy.
Measure your success against yourself and you can be happy when others win—and more likely to receive help from them thanks to your support."
1."The way to live a full life is to act quickly.
Particularly as you grow older, it's alarmingly easy to let a year or two (or five) slip by without doing the big things you always felt like doing. You get into a rhythm—not necessarily one you love, but one you become comfortable repeating—and the grooves of your daily routine become deeper and more established.
Speed is perpetually undervalued. That doesn't mean you should feel frantic or rushed. In fact, it's likely you should eliminate some of the things that make you feel so busy to make space for things you always wanted to do. But it definitely means you should stop letting the days drift by waiting for the moment to be right.
Stop acting like there is infinite time. This—the way you are living right now—is your one life."
Visual Arts Holiday Sale
It's the time of year again for the FAC Visual Arts Student Holiday Sale!

FAC Visual Arts Holiday Sale - Volunteers Still Needed!
We are still in need of volunteers for the Visual Arts Holiday Sale!
We welcome parent volunteers from ALL disciplines, not just visual arts parents!! Each shift is only 40 minutes, so it's a great way to pitch in even if you have a busy schedule! The sale is open for three 30-minute time slots each day, and we've added 5 minutes to the beginning and end of each volunteer shift to allow for set-up and closing tasks. Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts! When you arrive at the FAC, sign in as a volunteer at the security desk, where you'll be given further instructions. Please check your email prior to your shift for any updates or special instructions.
