PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE 02/07/25
Dear Emerson Families,
MSBOA Solo and Ensemble Results
A huge round of applause and heartfelt congratulations to our talented Emerson musicians: Ellie Cramer, Lillyanna Miller, Frederick Milliner, Cheyenne Williams, Liz Downey, Skylar Buckner, Aubree Reyburn, and Emmy Thompson! These dedicated students poured their hearts and souls into preparing for the MSBOA Solo and Ensemble Festival this past weekend, and their hard work truly shone through. We are absolutely thrilled to announce that every single one of them earned high ratings for their exceptional performances. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to their dedication, talent, and the support they receive from their families and teachers. Emerson is incredibly proud of these young musicians and their commitment to excellence. They represent the very best of our school's music program, and we can't wait to see what they accomplish next!
Have a great weekend!
With Eagle Pride,
Bruce Rivera

8th to 9th Grade Scheduling: 2/10 -2/12
Dear 8th Grade Families,
This is an exciting time for our 8th graders as they prepare for their transition to high school! As you know, the Franklin High School counselors visited our campus on Monday and Tuesday to discuss this transition and what students can expect in 9th grade.
Next steps in this process will be the scheduling of classes for the upcoming school year. This scheduling will take place during the week of February 10th in your student's social studies class.
To help guide and assist you and your student in the course selection process, we've attached a couple of helpful documents to this email.
Please take some time to review these together.
1. Selecting HS Classes January 2025
2. Guidance for 9th Grade Student Scheduling
3. EMS 9th Grade Course Selection Sheet
Your student's classroom teachers and school counselors are also excellent resources and are available to answer any questions your student may have. Please don't hesitate to reach out to them.
We look forward to supporting our 8th graders through this exciting transition!

A few key things to note:
The Livonia Parent Advisory Committee (LPAC) seeks parent representation from each Livonia Special Education Program. Parent representative volunteers have a child/children with a disability(ies). The LPAC also provides advisory input on matters regarding improvement of Special Education services within our school district.
Our Facebook page shares information of interest to our families and students.
Here, you will find electronic flyers for programs and events geared toward kids!
We hope that you enjoy the many offerings from around our great community!
If you have a program that you'd like to advertise, please email your flyer to Stacy Jenkins at sjenkins3@livoniapublicschools.org for approval. We follow a set of guidelines for approval and are only able to accept flyers for non-profit organizations that benefit our local children.

If your student has a dream club in mind or if you'd like to be an awesome advisor, let us know! Joining a club is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills, and have a blast!
