Turning the Page on a Fantastic First Half
As we reach the halfway point of the year, I want to take a moment to reflect on how proud I am of the incredible work being done at the Perry County Public Library. Our team continues to go above and beyond to make PCPL a welcoming, dynamic, and enriching place for everyone in our community.
From the moment you walk through our doors, it's clear that something special is happening here. If you havenโt visited lately, weโd love for you to stop in and let us show you around โ because PCPL is so much more than just books.
Our programming is truly on fire this year! Thereโs nothing better than hearing the laughter and curiosity of children as they play, explore, and learn in the Childrenโs Department.
Meanwhile, our Genealogy Department is thriving โ connecting people with the stories of their past and helping them discover their roots with personalized guidance.
Weโre also proud of our Bookmobile, which is actively serving residents across the county, ensuring that access to materials and services reaches every corner of Perry County. Itโs a powerful reminder that the library belongs to everyone.
And donโt forget โ we also have a fantastic branch in Cannelton that has so much to offer! One of its unique highlights is the Library of Things, where you can check out items like games, sewing machines, and even seeds from our Seed Library. We also offer Backyard Bags packed with supplies for outdoor fun, and Stay Sharp Bags specially designed to support those experiencing a decline in fine motor skills. Itโs another example of how weโre meeting community needs in creative and meaningful ways.
If you're not using the library, you're missing out. Whether you're seeking a quiet place to read, programs for you or your kids, research assistance, or just some friendly faces, we have something for you.
On behalf of all of us at PCPL, Iโd like to wish you and your families a safe and joyful Fourth of July.
We hope to see you soon!
