Broken Laptops and other technology Devices
As part of our commitment to providing your child with the best tools for success, we provide devices to enhance learning while in school. However, we have noticed an increasing number of devices being damaged due to misuse. To ensure we can continue offering this valuable resource, the district has implemented a new policy regarding fees for broken devices.
Effective immediately, families will be charged for device repairs or replacements if the damage is determined to be caused by misuse or neglect. This policy is necessary to address the rising costs of repairs and replacements, which impact our ability to maintain technology resources for all students.
Below is a breakdown of the fee structure for damaged devices:
Damaged Device $100
Lost/Stolen Device $200
Lost Accessory (including charger) $30
Screen Damage $100
Keyboard Damage $100
Charger Port Damage $100
Hinge Damage $100
We encourage you to speak with your child about the importance of caring for their device. Remind them to handle it carefully, avoid horseplaying while holding devices, and store it safely when not in use.
We understand that accidents happen, and we will assess each case individually to determine whether fees apply. Our goal is not to burden families but to promote responsible use of school-provided technology and ensure these tools remain available for all students.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to provide a positive and productive learning environment for every student. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know.

Renaissance Family Handbook
Attendance Goal for 24-25 School Year - 90% of students with less than 15 days absent for the year.
The doors of the school are opened at 7:10 each day. Students can eat breakfast for free in the cafeteria before going to class. Breakfast ends at 7:35 am. It's crucial that students arrive at school before 7:40, as after this time, they are considered late and must be signed in by an adult. Punctuality is key to a successful school day.
Last year, less than 78% of students met the threshold for satisfactory attendance. Satisfactory attendance is characterized by being present at least 90% of the school year. That is less than seventeen days for students enrolled on the first day. This year, we are striving for 90% of students with less than 15 days absent this year. Regular attendance is crucial for students’ success. Please ensure your child arrives on time and is ready to learn daily. If your student gets sick, notify the school immediately by sending an excuse to renaissanceESattendance@fultonschools.org
or a handwritten note. Include the following information.
Student Name
Parent/Guardian signature, phone number/e-mail address
Reason for the absence
You can also elect to use Remote Learning Days. Remote days must be requested in advance of the absence. To request a remote day, notify your child’s teacher via e-mail and copy Stephannie Green, the data Clerk, at greens11@fultonschools.org. Each student earns five remote days per semester. Students will be given assignments to make up for the missed day(s) at school. When the work is returned, the student will be counted as present for the day(s) missed.
School Uniforms
Students are encouraged to wear uniforms. The Renaissance uniform is a red or black polo-style shirt with khaki or black bottoms (shorts, pants, skirts, skorts, etc.). Students can wear a college shirt on Wednesday or a Renaissance school shirt on Friday. School T-shirts will be on sale at the front desk.
