VBCS Attendance Stats at a Glance (10/28-11/1)
Attendance this past week was 93.30%, which is down from 95.59% the previous week.
After 55 school days, cumulative attendance is 96.22%, which is a slight downtick from 96.52% the previous week.
After 55 school days, cumulative Chronic Absenteeism rate (10% or more of cumulative school days missed) is 8.3%, which is up slightly from 8.2% the previous week.

Welcome to the first full week of November and Red Ribbon Week! At Vivian Banks Charter School, our Red Ribbon Week focuses include making good decisions, healthy eating, and being drug free.
- MONDAY 11/4: Red Ribbon Week Assembly with Police and Bookmarks
- TUESDAY 11/5: Voting Day
- WEDNESDAY 11/6: Red Ribbon Week Lunchtime Activities with National Guard and Word Search
- THURSDAY 11/7: Healthy Living Contract
- FRIDAY 11/8: Wear RED Day!
Our second VBCS Parent Club was held on Wednesday 10/30. Thank you to the parents and guardians who attended! We continued collaborative talks centered around developing an amazing community garden, wall ball walls, a very special VBCS mural, and resurfacing of the basketball court. The Environmental Protection Agency was also in attendance, and we will be working together on some potential exciting grants related to the garden! Our very own Ms. Sanchez is helping lead this effort by bringing together members of our wonderful community on behalf of our awesome VBCS students - thank you Ms. Sanchez! Please click the link to see our work over the first two Parent Club meetings...and please plan to join us at the next VBCS Parent Club meeting on Wednesday 11/20 at 5:30PM. Food and drinks will be provided!
Please join us this Wednesday 11/6 from 1:30-2:30PM for our monthly Indian Education Council meeting. This month, we will be discussing projects and initiatives benefiting our amazing students, and reviewing LCAP 2024-25 goals. Lunch and drinks will be provided! Please consider yourself invited, and if you know of someone within the Pala community who might like being a part of VBCS Indian Education Council, please bring them along!
On Friday 11/8 we welcome our BHS Legion Leaders back to Vivian Banks Charter School. These amazing high schoolers will spend some time collaborating with educators and working with students. What a great opportunity to build community between VBCS and BHS!

MGySgt. Artie Allen III (Ret.) Visits to Talk About Veterans' Day and Respect
On Friday 11/1, Master Gunnery Sergeant (Ret.) Artie Allen III visited Vivian Banks Charter School and spoke with our students about Veterans' Day, his experiences serving the U.S. in the Marine Corps, and the importance of a life of service and respect. Thank you to our very own Ms. Amerson for organizing this very special visit!
