Hello Falcon Families,
Week 3 is all about getting involved! It's Club Week at Andrew P. Hill, and we've got a lot of exciting events lined up to help students connect with our school community.
Let's make this week a great one by getting involved and showing our Falcon pride!

Regular Week Schedule
- On Thursdays all students start at 8:30am, be ready for more morning traffic.
- On Thursdays all students get out at 2:23pm, be ready for more after school traffic.
- Student Union and all offices close at 2:30pm every Thursday (will open next day at 8:00am)
- Singleton Parking lot gates will be closed around 9:00am
- Singleton Pedestrian gate will be closed at the start of 2nd period (9:40am most days)

Exciting Job Opportunity for Students: Join the Food Services Team!
Are you looking to earn some extra cash while gaining valuable work experience? Food Services is hiring student workers for the 2024-2025 school year in the Student Union! This is a fantastic opportunity to work on campus, make new friends, and start saving up.
- Starting Pay: $16 per hour
- Wage Increase: Starting September 2024, your pay will go up to $16.50 per hour!

Athletics
Athletic Game Tickets:
You can now Purchase Athletic Game Tickets ONLINE.
Tickets will be $1 more for each ticket purchase. You can also scan the QR Code.
Competitive Cheer: Our Falcon Cheer team is having try outs for the 2024-2025 competition Team! Try outs are Tuesday August 20th and Wednesday August 21st! Follow us on IG @ahhsfalconcheer the link for the application is in our BIO! You must complete the application prior to try outs! Once you apply, you will receive an email with the try out materials! See Ms. Eckley in 410 if you have any questions!
Hey Falcons! The first Falcon Olympics of the year is kicking off from August 26th to August 30th, and we’re starting with soccer on Jack Germaine Field during lunch! Gather your friends, form a team of 6, and get ready to compete.
Important Dates:
- Sign-Ups Start: Wednesday, August 14, 2024
- Informational Meeting: Thursday, August 22, 2024, during lunch in Dahl Hall
- Game Days: Monday, August 26, 2024 - Friday, August 30, 2024, during lunch on Jack Germaine Field.
The prize is $150 door dash order.

Theme for the Year: Andrew P. Hill Stories
This year, our theme for Andrew Hill Activities is "Andrew P. Hill Stories." We'll be diving into the rich history of our school and sharing stories from community members, alumni, staff, and students. All of our activities will center around these stories, celebrating our shared experiences and heritage and stories you might have heard growing up!. If you’re interested in sharing your story, please contact Miss Hoang in room 407. We can’t wait to hear from you and make this year truly memorable!
We're excited to introduce Minga to Andrew P. Hill High School this year! Minga is a fantastic platform designed to keep our school community connected and informed. With Minga, you can easily stay updated on school news, events, and activities, and engage with your peers and teachers. We'll also be using Minga for Digital IDs this year. If you don't have a phone, no worries—you can request a physical ID. Stay tuned for more information on how to sign up and get started!
Basic Swimming!
Swimming after school 3 days a week! On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:30 to 6 pm come to the pool deck to learn to swim and basic water safety. Pool deck will be open by 4:15 pm. No experience needed. Come on out and have some fun.

Come join us for our Meet & Greet event to begin the 2024-25 school year. The event will be in-person with all staff being outside. You have the opportunity to meet staff and to learn about the possible supports available to all students.

We're gearing up for an exciting prom season and need your help! We're seeking volunteers to assist with a fundraising event at the Stanford Concession on Friday, August 30, 2024, starting at 3:00 PM. Your support will directly contribute to lowering the cost of prom tickets.

Class/Club Advisor Meeting: Save the Date! Advisors, please come to Dahl Hall on Monday, August 19, 2024 (UPDATED DATE) during lunch for class/club advisor updates. Your time here will be added to your supervision hours!
ASB Senate Meeting: Save the Date! ASB Senate will have it's first meeting on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 during 4th Period in Dahl Hall! Learn more about constitution updates and upcoming events. Please send your representatives!
August Interclub Council Meeting: Save the Date! Interclub Council will have it's first meeting on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 during lunch in Dahl Hall. Learn more about constitution updates, club policies and procedures and upcoming events. Please send your cabinet!
Club Day - Club Rush, and Club Carnival: This year, Club Day will be on Thursday, August 29, 2023. Club Rush will take place during lunch in the main quad. It is an opportunity for you to meet and greet, and join a club of your choice. After-school there will be Club Carnival where you can meet advisors & club members, play games, enjoy music, and buy snacks from 3:30-5:00 PM in the main quad.
VSA First General Meeting: Hey Hey Hey! You're invited to our first general meeting of the school year on August 21, 2024 during lunch in Dahl Hall. Please come + bring your friends to learn more about this year's plans, join VSA, and meet our new OFFICER BOARD!

What kind of issues does the Mental Health & Wellness Center address?
The center addresses a wide variety of issues such as:
Stress/anxiety symptoms
Low mood/depression symptoms
Sexual orientation/gender identity questions
Family/home Issues
Chronic illness
Substance use
Violence and abuse
Peer relationships/social supports
Cultural supports
Crisis support (during school hours)
Off-site resources & referrals
