Congratulations to Our New Officer Team!
Monday, September 23 we voted in our New Officer Team. Congratulations to the following youth. We know you will lead Sibley County well!

Reminder to Re-Enroll in 4-H Online
It is that time of year again to get re-enrolled in 4-H Online. At the September Federation Meeting it was agreed to have a drawing with 10 - $20.00 gift cards. All youth that have re-enrolled in 4-H Online by October 31, 2024 will be put in that drawing. If anyone has any questions, please contact the Sibley County Extension office at 507-237-4100 or email Connie or Joleen.
Club Charters
Club Charters were mailed out to the key leaders a couple of weeks ago. Any person listed on the charter needs to be active in 4-H online. That includes all officers and adults. Please make sure you complete them! All Club Charters are due to the Extension Office by October 31, 2024. The Treasurer books are due at this time to be judged and will be kept in the office until the charter process is complete.
Chuck Yahnke Memorial Award
A couple of years ago we had an exciting opportunity arise for the Sibley County 4-Hers. We were approached by the family of Chuck Yahnke, a fellow 4-Her from Sibley County, that wants to award 4-Her's. 4-Her's 3rd grade and older are eligible to apply. The Chuck Yahnke Memorial Award applications are due to the Sibley County Extension office by 10/15/24. Applications will be reviewed by a committee and 2- $500 awards will be handed out at the annual Awards Banquet. National 4-H Week: October 6 - 12
How is your club promoting 4-H next week? A picture and location of the completed display must be emailed to Connie or Joleen by Wednesday, October 9. Awards will be given to the most creative, most ambitious, and how many potential members reached.
What are you doing for National 4-H Week? October 6 – 12, 2024 has been set aside as a promotion for recruiting new members as well as making the public aware of all the benefits and programs 4-H offers. The MN 4-H State Ambassadors are excited for you to join them during National 4-H week and participate in the daily themes throughout the week.
- Service Sunday- Complete an act of service or share about an act of service you have completed.
- Member Monday- Give a shout out to a 4-H member that rocks and why!
- Time Machine Tuesday-Share photos from when you first got involved in 4-H!
- Wear it Wednesday-Wear your favorite 4-H shirt!
- Thankful Thursday-Thank a 4-H staff person or volunteer for all they do!
- Fair Friday-Share your favorite fair memory!
- Service Saturday-Complete an act of service or share about an act of service you have completed!
Reminder that records are due in the office October 4th for anyone submitting them to be judged.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to all the Sibley County 4-Her's that participated at the State Shooting Sports and Wildlife Invitational, State Horse Show and State Dog Show in September! We are very proud of how well you represented Sibley County.
Federation Meeting
The next Federation Meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 25, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.! We will be meeting in the Sibley County Service Center. Please plan on having EVERY club represented. The Federation delegates are the link between the clubs and the Federation. If you can’t make it, please find a replacement.
Project Meetings
Project meetings are a great way for 4-H members to learn more about their projects. If you have ideas for project meetings that you would like to see, or if you or someone you know is interested in teaching a project meeting, please let Connie know. Now is the time to get those meetings scheduled for the fall and winter.
Annual Officer and Volunteer Training
The 2024-25 Annual Officer and Volunteer Leadership Training will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Gustavus College in St. Peter. Join us for an awesome day of learning. There is something for everyone. More information will be coming in the next couple of weeks!
Awards Night
Our Annual 4-H Awards Day will be hosted by the Weeping Willows 4-H Club. It will be held on Sunday, November 10 at Backwoods in New Auburn starting at 3:00 p.m. There will be a meal served after the program. Please RSVP by Monday, November 4 to rettm001@umn.edu or by calling the Extension Office at 507-237-4100.
Project Bowl
Are you interested in participating in project bowl? We have teams that are starting to organize already in Dairy, General Livestock, Poultry and Rabbit. Please reach out to Connie or Joleen and we can get more information and in touch with one of the coaches.
