Important Dates
August 30 - September 2 - All offices are closed and staff are unavailable.
September 3 - First day of the 2024-2025 school year.
September 5 - Scranton Open House 6-8 pm.
Important Information
- School Starts promptly at 7:55.
- Doors open for students to be dropped off at 7:30am. Before 7:30 there is no supervision for students.
- Breakfast and Lunch are free for all students.
- Please be sure to drop your student off on time. If they are dropped off and tardy to class there is a tardy policy. If you recieve 4 tardies in a quarter it is a 30 minute Saturday Detention. Any additional tardy after 4 is a one our Saturday Detention. This will be in effect starting the second week of school. There is also no parent excuses for tardies. If you drop them off late, it will still count as one of their tardies.
- Students are not permitted to have cell phones on their person during class or the school day. Please remind them to keep them in their lockers. They are permitted to have them at lunch, but not in the hallway. Please review this with your student.
- Bags are not allowed in the classroom. This includes small clutch bag and cross body bags. These should be kept in lockers.
The McKinney Vento Act
The Brighton Area Schools is part of a consortium to serve students in temporary living situations that provides financial support for educational needs, referral for housing, clothing, and other needs, general support, and technical assistance. To ensure compliance with federal law, all school staff must help identify students living in the following situations: emergency shelters/transitional housing, motels/hotels, car, parks or public spaces, shared housing due to a loss of housing or economic hardship or living temporarily with non-parent or guardian. The district’s homeless liaison.
