Kindergarten Screening
We are so proud of our new Kindergarten class. The students were filled with excitement and tried their very best to demonstrate their knowledge during the short screening. We would like to extend a special thank you to our kindergarten staff who conducted the screenings. It's nice for our youngest students to have a friendly face to recognize on their first day!

Sensory Walk
A BIG thank you to our custodians, Mrs. Whitesel and Mr. Taylor, who made sure our Sensory Walk was ready for the first day of school! A sensory walk is a pathway that helps children explore different sensory experiences. By following the series of guided movements and interacting with educational components such as numbers, colors, and letters, students can regulate their emotions and get the wiggles out in a fun and engaging way! Different textured items will soon be added to the walls along the path to provide additional sensory stimulation.
Staff Spotlights
Sharon Novak, Interim North Principal
Years in the district: 8 years
What excites me most about my job: I look forward to the fact that every day is a new day. Having the opportunity to see children excited about coming to school and learning and gaining confidence is the most rewarding part of my job.
Three adjectives students would use to describe me: Patient, funny and hard-working
A few of my favorite things include: I love boating and vacationing especially when it is with my family and children.
What is most important to me in my role: Keeping children excited about coming to school and knowing they can accomplish their goals as well as supporting my staff. I feel when both the adults and children within your building feel it is a safe and welcoming environment you will see them take risks and excel.
Danielle Ockuly, North Elementary Student and Family Liaison
Years in the district: 7 years
Reason(s) I chose to pursue my position at Midview Local Schools: Prior to this role, I taught at Midview Middle School, 8th grade math and intervention. My son was born in May 2022, and I took the following year off to spend time with him. After that year, North was looking for a Liaison, and it felt right! The role allows me to better understand early childhood developmental needs while also pursuing a career in educational leadership.
Some of my hobbies/interests outside of my career:I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two-year-old son, Jackson.
I am not a big fan of: Unloading the dishwasher, spiders, and onions
What is most important to me in my role: It is very important to me that all students feel safe and loved while at school. As the Student and Family Liaison, my office is a safe space for students and adults to be themselves.
