Intradistrict Open Enrollment

The District is accepting applications for Intradistrict Open Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year through April 12. Applicants will be notified of the decision via mail by May 10. Applications are reviewed using the criteria listed here.

SPED Survey

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has launched a survey to learn more about families' involvement in the education of their children with disabilities. You may be eligible to participate if your child has an IEP and receives special education services.

Ohio Teacher of the Year

More than an award, the State Board of Education’s Ohio Teacher of the Year program offers a way for schools and community members to elevate the teaching profession and recognize exceptional teachers as leaders advocating for student success and public education. Nominate an educator here by March 31.

Digital Safety Event

The District, CH-UH PTA Council, and 21st Century Programs are hosting part two of the Cell Phone & Online Safety Symposium on April 9 at Heights High. Attendees will hear from parents Tim and Tamia Woods, who founded the Do It For James Foundation after their son James fell victim to online sextortion. The presentation is at 6 p.m. with dinner at 5:30 p.m. RSVP here.

Senior Class Fundraiser

The Heights High Class of 2024 is selling hanging baskets and planters for their fundraiser for prom and other end-of-year activities through March 21. Delivery day is scheduled for April 25.

• Heights High School will host the 27th Annual Cleveland Northeast Suburban College Fair on March 21 from 7-9 p.m. Representatives from more than 50 colleges & universities will be on hand. In the Mini Auditorium from 6-7 p.m., there will be an HBCU Workshop for students and families who wish to learn more about historically black colleges and universities. Details
• The CH-UH Human Resources Department is excited to announce the 'Grow Your Own' Teacher Scholarship Program from the Ohio Department of Higher Education. This scholarship would provide up to $7,500 a year for up to 4 years. Graduating seniors willing to work as a paraprofessional in CH-UH while pursuing an education degree are encouraged to apply. Applications must be turned in to HR in person or via email by March 22.
• Heights Athletic Boosters hosted a College Recruiting Information Panel for student-athletes and their families on March 14. Watch the video of the session here.

• Now in its 13th year, Reading Camp will take place from June 23-28 at Bellwether Farm in Wakeman, Ohio. The overnight camp, completely free for families, is an opportunity for children to gain reading skills and confidence and engage in fun camp activities. Details
• Heights Athletic Boosters is hosting a Baseball & Softball Gear Sale at the Cleveland Heights Community Center on March 16, 10 am-2 pm.
• FutureHeights has launched its first Crowdsourced Conversations topic for 2024: "Active Transportation Planning: Living Less Car-Centric in the Heights." Take the survey here by March 31. Responses will help FutureHeights plan for meaningful, action-oriented small group discussion at the April forum.

Anyone can complete this referral form, and submissions are routed directly to the school social worker and counselors for follow-up.

The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.
