Welcome to FoDaC!
Welcome to Friends of Dana and Corriea (FoDaC). My name is Stacey Hoffmayer, and I'm the newly elected President of FoDaC. This year we have a whole new board (and new logo!), which is pretty exciting. Lots of new ideas and energy!
About Me
I am a mom of four boys; ages 8, 10,11 and 13. I am an ER/trauma nurse and work at SF General Hospital on the weekends. I also foster dogs. While I do have a lot of irons in the fire and I'm often "rollin' in hot," you'll find that I have a BIG heart and I get things done. I started volunteering at my childrens' schools when they were little and it has naturally evolved over time. I am all about building community and making connections, and I want it to continue within our middle schools. There are six elementary schools that feed into our middle schools! What a great time to meet new families, make new friends, start building relationships with others, and when our kids enter high school, our Point Loma village will be there to support them.
A Bit of History
FoDaC was created a few years ago by parents who wanted a more meaningful middle school experience for themselves and their child. Instead of two separate PTA groups, one for Dana and one for Correia, parents joined together and created FoDaC, so that you, as a parent, could see your involvement/investment as a continuous four-year middle school experience. To date, FoDaC has been able to fund numerous activities and programs, including homework club, art club, teacher grants. in-school tutoring, staff and student enrichment experiences, and more.
This Year
This year, FoDaC will focus on community building and fundraising. We can't do it without you! Our parent group is only as amazing and strong as the people who get involved. We have lots of ideas for community events and fundraising but we need help to make them happen. There are only five Board members for FoDaC, which is not much when compared to other boards (baseball, softball, football). We want parents to get excited about education, and their child's middle school experience. Turkey trots, music festivals, movie nights, dodgeball tournaments, golf fundraisers, community dinners- we can NOT do any of these things without parent volunteers and family participation. So join us. We want you. If you have ideas, bring them. If you only have 20 minutes, we still want you. Moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents, guardians there is a place for all of you at our table, this is our village, you are our tribe!

We meet at 6pm on the second Tuesday of each month (alternating between Dana and Correia). Next meeting is October 8th @Correia. BTW, many of us go to Long Story following our meeting for trivia night. Join us.
Dana Dash is HERE!
Dana’s largest student fundraiser is our annual Dana Dash, and it’s coming soon! This year’s theme is Shred Fest, and the event will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2024. During this event, the kids will run the track and spend the rest of the day participating in several exciting activities. The students collect pledges from their family and friends for the laps they run. The money they raise is used directly to help fund the programs at Dana and Correia, like homework club, teacher grants, art club, and more! Shred Fest is proudly presented by FODAC in collaboration with the amazing staff at Dana Middle School. To get started, register your student, using Pledgestar (for detailed instructions click HERE).
