NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 1 | 10 OCTOBER 2024
Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
Welcome to Term Four ... it is truly unbelievable to think we have made it to this time of the year! I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing holiday and enjoyed some much needed family time. I would like to sincerely thank Mrs Emma Fernandez for taking on the role of Acting Principal for the last four weeks of last term, allowing me to enjoy some leave to travel with my family. Also, to all the staff for supporting her during this time. While I had a wonderful holiday, I was excited to get back to school and hear all about the fabulous events that occurred at the end of the term. Thank you to everyone for all the lovely wishes that I have received as I celebrated a milestone birthday. All the staff and students made me feel very loved yesterday!
This is the time of year when we start to finalise staffing for 2025. As previously outlined some staff will be leaving us and have taken up positions at other CEWA schools for 2025. Mr Chris Rebeiro will be taking on the role of Physical Education Teacher at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School, Butler and Miss Olivia Edwards will be moving to Emmaus Catholic Primary School, Dayton as the Kindergarten teacher. On behalf of everyone, I take this opportunity to thank them for everything they have done for the school community over the past few years and wish them all the best. Additionally, Mrs Emma Fernandez will also be leaving St Elizabeth’s and the process of appointing a new Assistant Principal has begun. An outline of the Staffing for 2025 will be available in the next couple of weeks. Please note that staffing can be an ever changing landscape and there still may be changes before the end of the year, but this will be communicated.
This term is a busy one, so please make sure that you have the updated version of the Parent Calendar.
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!
God bless
Rebecca Clarke
Principal

Milestone Birthday Celebration
Our Principal, Mrs Clarke celebrated a special milestone birthday over the holiday break, and we made sure to honour this special occasion as a school community. The day started with purple balloons and decorations in her office, followed by our Kindergarten to Year 6 students presenting Mrs Clarke with heartfelt messages, purple cards, singing and special drawings. She was then treated to lovely gifts and a delicious morning tea from our staff. It was a wonderful day of celebrating! We hope you enjoyed your special day!
Berry Street Staff Training - Professional Development Day (Monday, 7 October)
On Monday, all staff participated in our second day of Berry Street training focused on Relationships. Berry Street is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families, emphasising the importance of building strong, positive relationships in educational settings. The training highlighted strategies for fostering meaningful connections with students, creating a safe and supportive environment, and promoting emotional wellbeing. By prioritising relationships, we can enhance student engagement and academic success.
Year 5 Camp
On Monday, our Year Five students, along with Mr Fitzgibbons, Miss Nguyen, Mrs Chan Saw and myself, will be heading off to camp at Swan Valley Adventure Centre. We’re all very excited to spend this special, quality time together and have a lot of fun!
Just a few reminders to parents about...
Medication - All medication must be labelled and brought into the office by tomorrow, Friday 11 October and be given to Mrs Didlock.
Snacks for Camp - We apologise for any confusion over snacks. We ask that the boys bring two pieces of fruit and the girls bring 2 packets of biscuits. All other food and snacks will be provided by the camp. We kindly ask that all these items are placed in the tubs on Monday morning, as we have students will allergies and need to ensure all food is kept in one space.
In gratitude
Emma Fernandez
