Don’t Forget to Sign up for the iPad Protection Plan
District 196 offers an optional Protection Plan to families for $20 per iPad to cover the cost of potential theft/damage throughout the school year. The plan is free for families who qualify for the Educational Benefits Program so it is highly recommended to first apply online for that program in order to have the discount applied when purchasing the protection plan.
After Sept. 23, 2024, families without the protection plan will be responsible for costs associated with loss of or damage to a district-issued iPad. Information about the iPad protection plan for families, along with a link to the support page for EduTrak Connect, a fee payment system the district implemented earlier this month is found using these links.
Health Office Updates
Please make sure to fill out the medication consent form in Campus that allows your student to have Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tums, and other over the counter creams like Hydrocortisone and Bacitracin should they need them. District nurses are unable to administer these medications without parent permission.
Thank you!

Students can serve detentions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:40-4:00pm in C134. Morning Detention from 6:55-7:35am in Student Services is another option Monday-Friday. Detention is a quiet study hall where students are expected to work independently.
Detentions earned for the first (5) tardies in a class and then every three tardies after that need to be served within three weeks of notice or additional consequences and restricted opportunities may result.
Contact Mr. Arrale or Mr. Habeck in Student Services with questions.
Student Parking At EVHS
All students parking in Student Lots need to have a Fall Semester Parking Permit between 7:30am and 2:30pm on school days. Tickets will be issued to cars that are parked without a permit, parked illegally on the yellow lines or parked in the north faculty lot. Tickets need to be paid within (5) school days.

ARTS, ACTIVITIES & CLUBS
New: EVHS Speech & Debate - 7th in the Nation
The National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) has released its annual ranking of debate and speech programs in its membership, which includes schools in the United States and Canada. Eastview High School ranked 7th out of over 3,000 schools for the 2023-2024 school year. The NSDA ranks programs by assessing both the quantity and quality of speech and debate team members; Eastview HS ranks highly because it has one of the nation's largest debate and speech programs and its students are competitively successful.
In June 2024, Eastview was named a National School Excellence in Speech at the NSDA National Speech and Debate Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. This award, based only on competition results at the national tournament, placed Eastview in the Top 20 out of more than 1400 participating schools in speech.
Our in-district teacher coaches in 2023-2024 included:
Brady Beckman (speech)
Jessica Fedje (speech)
Todd Hering (speech and debate)
