School News
From Mrs. Wilkins
Happy November Warren families!
We were thankful for the opportunity to see you and discuss your child/children’s progress at Parent Teacher conferences.
A friendly reminder to drive slowly and adhere to traffic rules on and near our school campus. When dropping off / picking up your child, vehicles need to be parked in a parking spot. We have had a few incidences of vehicles almost hitting students because they are trying to drive around another vehicle. The winter darkness, ice, and fog make visibility challenging. Your child’s safety and well-being are of the utmost importance.
Similarly, students cannot be picked up from the parking lot closest to the office. We do not have staff coverage for that area.
November 13 is a school-wide pajama party to celebrate, “World Kindness Day.” Classrooms have been focusing on kindness and what it means to be a “PAX Leader.” Ask your child what kind acts they have accomplished at home and at school.
Thank you for sharing your child/children with us. We value your partnership.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wilkins

Attendance Information
Please call the school office to excuse your child(ren)'s absence. We understand that many of you are able to message your student's teacher, and they often appreciation that communication. The teachers, however, are not able to excuse an absence from their class room. Though teachers try their best to deliver messages to the office regarding absences, they are often unable to do so. We thank you for making sure that the school office is also notified. If you are not getting a live person when you are calling - it is probably due to a high volume of emails, calls and other notifications regarding our students. Please leave us a message about your student's absence (date, name and duration of absence along with person calling). Due to the tight window between attendance submitted and when updates need to be posted, not all updates will be entered prior to the collection of information by the system that generates the automatic emails and phone calls to guardians. Please do not be concerned if you have left an attendance message and receive a call/email regarding that absence. The only time you need to be concerned is if you have not yet reached out to the office to excuse that absence.

LOST AND FOUND
All kidding aside, we strive to return lost items to students. Our sudden winter weather means new winter gear at school. Please label your children's items with their names. This will help control an already overcrowded lost and found! Thank you to all parents that helped claim items from the lost and found during parent conferences! Please encourage your children to claim any left items. All unclaimed items will be donated November 21st.
Congratulations Mrs. Wilkins!
Congratulations to Mrs. Wilkins as a Helena Education Foundation 2023 "Let's Talk About Great Teachers" honoree. She will be honored with a tribute at HEF's annual "Great Conversations" event coming up on November 15th.

Eat well - win prizes for your elementary school!
The #MTHarvestoftheMonth Program showcases a different Montana-grown food each month. September’s feature is herbs. Herbs have had cultural, medicinal, and culinary importance for thousands of years. In ancient Greece famous athletes and artists were crowned with wreaths of bay leaves, and bay leaves were used medicinally during the Middle Ages.
One of our SNACK STRONG challenges this month is Spinach Basil Pesto. Try it on pizza, pasta, or as a dip or spread. To win prizes for your elementary school, post a picture of your pesto with your school’s hashtag (see below) or complete this form https://forms.gle/bzoi3WioJbUiCQJQ8
Bon appetite!
