Happy Spring! This past week, James Madison School #10 was filled with fun and family!! We celebrated St. Patrick's Day by wearing green and enjoying related stories and activities!!

Our students, staff and families had a wonderful evening during our International Night hosted by our ESL teachers, Mrs. Mendoza and Mrs. Orla. This night included music, dancing and delicious food! Thank you to everyone who set up a table! Fun was had by everyone!

March's SEL theme is Teamwork and Cooperation! This month we will be focusing on healthy friendships, working together and conflict resolution. During whole group, we are reading the book "Eraser" and working on crafts that reflect how we show teamwork.

Students in SEL Small Group also used teamwork to create sand castles together! They all did a great job working together! This week, we are focusing on the six "Keys" of resolving conflicts. This includes: apologizing, taking turns, relaxing, using an I-message, letting it go and/or using humor.

Spring can bring seasonal allergies, which may affect students with symptoms such as sneezing, runny noses, itchy eyes, and congestion. To help your child manage their symptoms effectively, we kindly ask that you have them take any prescribed allergy medication prior to coming to school each day. If your child requires medication during school hours, please remember to provide us with the necessary forms and authorization so we can administer it appropriately. Let's work collaboratively to ensure all students have a great Spring Season!

Our 5th Graders enjoyed a bowling trip to Parkway Lanes last week.

This month, the class with the highest attendance will receive an awesome NACHO PARTY!!! Students who are present every day this month, will also participate in a special raffle to win a taco lunch with Mrs. Silva & Mrs. Faga!

We are working on improving our overall attendance at James Madison School. Please avoid taking vacations during the school year. If you want to travel, plan around the days/weeks we have off. Each day your child is not here, they are losing academic learning. Make-up work is not the same as in school learning. We are looking forward to working together to give every child a great education.
