A Message from Ms. Peterson
Hello MCP3 Families!
Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed your holidays and were able to spend some quality time with your kiddos over the winter break. We are so happy to have the scholars back at MCP3 learning and having fun! Our scholars are so amazing, they came back ready to go! Scholars remembered the routines and procedures and are jumping right in with participating. We had a few new scholars join our program this week and they are also rocking it out! They are being great listeners and making friends already.
Thank you for coming to our Winter Program on Friday prior to break. I am so proud of our scholars' hard work learning their song and presenting it for you. They did such a great job showing courage, confidence, and respect during their first program of the year! I hope you all enjoyed it.
As we jump into the new year, here are few important reminders and upcoming events:
New Staff Members
We had two new Educational Assistants join our team this week. Ms. Burt will be supporting the North Carolina A&T Bulldogs along with Ms. Harrell and Ms. Hamiel will support the Marquette Golden Eagles along with Ms. Miller. Their Bios and picture are included below. Shout out to our wonderful subs, Ms. Minor and Ms. Keifer, who have been supporting those classrooms for the past couple of months!
Morning Arrival Time & Procedures
Morning Arrival time is 7:30am-8:00am. School begins at 8:00am.
Mandatory Q2 Parent Teacher Conferences- 1/30 & 1/31
Parent-Teacher conferences are a crucial component of our educational program. Parents are expected to attend conferences after each of the first two quarters, and during the 3rd Quarter as requested by the classroom teacher or principal.
All Parent Teacher Conferences will be in person. Students are encouraged to attend the report card conferences.
Students will be withheld from class if their parent/guardian does not attend a scheduled conference. (MCP Family Handbook)
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on
Thursday, Jan. 30th 4:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 31st 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (No scholar attendance)
Starting Jan. 13th - Please use the attached instructions to schedule conferences with your child(ren’s) teacher through the Skyward system. Notifications and reminders will be sent via email so it is important that your email address is on file and accurate.
If you have forgotten your Skyward password, you can request to have your information emailed to you by clicking the “Forgot Password” link below the login.
If you need help with updating your email address or with login/password details, please contact the school office at your campus.
Please note:
After January 26th any conferences not scheduled will be scheduled for you by the Office. You will receive an email with the time that was scheduled for you.

ello, my name is Vida Hamel. I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome to Milwaukee college prep.
I've been teaching for over 15 years. I have a passion for education and love for children. I also have another passion and degree in Culinary Arts. I love cooking and I'm a person who loves trying different types of food. What I like to do on my spare time is hanging out with my beautiful grandchildren who take all of my time and I do not mind and I love to travel outside of the country.

Hello! I’m Ms.Burt, a passionate educator with 5+ years of experience teaching various ages in Early Childhood Education. I believe in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. Outside the classroom, I enjoy being a mommy of 4 & Keeping up with self care. I’m excited to get to know you all and make a positive impact here at MCP3.

Acting out the Story
Scholars got tell parts of the story with the teachers. They were acting out nocturnal animals waking up when the moon comes out.

Theme #5: Favorite Tales and Rhymes
Week 1- Hen Tales
Traditional tales and rhymes are intergenerational. They have been passed down for centuries from mothers, fathers, and teachers. Most everyone knows the story of The Little Red Hen and The Sky is Falling (Henny Penny). This week children will hear these tales and will no doubt delight their parents and grandparents by retelling these familiar stories at home.

STEAM It's Gravity
Scholars work together to roll various items down a ramp and what happens when we make the the ramp steeper. Scholars will also build tall block towers and see what happens when they get too tall.
Scholars will compare their heart rates each day after doing two types of activities: a calm activity and an active activity.

Parent Liaison Message - Lisa Goodman
- VOLUNTEERING AT MCP
- We love to have parent volunteers help out in the school! If you have time free during the school day and would like to help us with tutoring, copying, cutting, laminating, or any of the other tasks that it takes to make a school run smoothly. To volunteer, we ask that you follow the following process:
- Click here to contact MCP to apply as a volunteer
- All parents must fill out a volunteer form if they would like to help in their class or another room
- If you are interested in volunteering to chaperone an upcoming field trip, please contact your child’s teacher
- Alumni who would like to volunteer should seek pre-approval from that campus’ Principal at least 48 hours in advance
We recognize your child’s learning and character development extends beyond school hours. That’s why we have partnered with two summer camps, YMCA Camp Minikani and Camp for All Kids, to give MCP scholars the opportunity to experience unique personal development through 1-week, 2-week, and 4-week overnight camp this summer.- Interested in learning more?
