The Illinois Principals Association (IPA) encourages all communities in Illinois to celebrate Principal Appreciation Week October 20-26, 2024, and Principal Appreciation Day on Friday, October 25, 2024. This state-endorsed recognition was first approved by the Governor of Illinois in 1990 and is celebrated annually. Principal Appreciation Day provides learning communities an opportunity to publicly recognize the work, commitment and importance of principals, assistant principals, and deans throughout the state. We invite all teachers, students, parents, and community members to perform some act of appreciation on Friday, October 25, 2024 to acknowledge the leadership of building administrators in Illinois’ public and private schools.
Student Council Fall Dance
We will not have a bus after this dance, and students must stay until we dismiss at 4:30pm. Since this dance is right after school, a change of clothes is not needed and costumes will not be allowed. We will have pizza to order ahead of time, dancing, games, and more.
Skyward Alert E-mails
Missing Assignments
We started sending an automated e-mail through Skyward once a week alerting parents of missing assignments. You can always check Google Classroom and Skyward to see what assignments are due and what is missing, but this is an automatic way for you to be alerted when things are missing.Attendance and Late to Class (Tardies)
We will also send automated reminders when students are absent or late to class/school repeatedly. If you have not downloaded the Skyward app, we highly suggest that too.
After School Sports
Boys Basketball and Cheerleading permission slips available below. You can send them back to school or email them to alewicki@saltcreek48.org or kbeckwith@saltcreek48.org
REMEMBER- you must have an up to date sports physical on file before you try out!! Not sure if you are up to date? Email Mrs. Simmons @msimmons@saltcreek48.org

Community Engagement
Community Engagement Series
Salt Creek District 48 will be hosting a community engagment series in which we use Jonathan Haidt's book, The Anxious Generation, as a guide for conversation around how we can best support today's youth. About his book, Haidt states, "My central claim in this book is that these two trends--overprotection in the real world and under-protection in the virtual world--are the major reasons why children born after 1995 became the anxious generation."
Click on the flyer to view more information. Interested in attending? RSVP here.
Questions? Contact Mrs. Hummel at hhummel@saltcreek48.org
