Johnson Newsletter

I am thrilled to be your Johnson Elementary principal! I am not a Scott County native, but I have been part of the community for over 20 years. From 2000-2023, I taught 7th grade ELA at SMS; last year I moved to SES to serve as the assistant principal.

My husband Tony and I have 3 children: Kellan (18), Beau (16), and Caris (9). The kids keep us busy, but in my free time, I enjoy reading, Wordle, laughing, and spending time with family and friends.

I am grateful my career path has lead me to Johnson Elementary. My years in the classroom, my experiences as an assistant principal, and my journey raising our children gives me a wealth of perspectives. I look forward to meeting each of you personally and learning more about the unique strengths and aspirations of our school community. Together, I am confident that we will build upon the rich traditions of Johnson Elementary and create new opportunities for growth, achievement, and excellence.

JES staff is already working hard preparing for a wonderful year! Soak up every minute of summer, and we will see you in August!

All grades request a standard size backpack without wheels, a clear water bottle (except Kindergarten), and NON bluetooth headphones (they need a wire/cord).

2024-2025 District Elementary Handbook has been updated to include language about water bottles to be "leak proof." Last year, tumblers with straws created several spills in the classroom and dismissal sites. Spills create hazards for our students, staff, and devices. These containers will not be permitted this year per the handbook. Thank you for selecting a leak proof water bottle for your child this school year.
