🏫 A Note From Mrs. Rowe
Hello Carpenter School Families,
May is here, and there is much to look forward to, but first, a shout out to April!
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey to help us prepare for the solar eclipse. Whether you traveled north, watched it from home, or joined us at school, I hope you were able to safely enjoy that magical, celestial experience.
Also in April, we were thrilled to host accomplished children's author, Marty Kelly, whose stories and demonstrations had us laughing out loud all morning. He gave us a fun and important reminder about the power of perseverance and staying true to ourselves.
And of course, the Third-Grade Wax Museum! What a fun tradition for our oldest learners to share. They inspired our current second/rising third graders at their dress rehearsal during the day, and wowed their families at the main event that night. A huge thank you to our teachers and support staff for making it a success!
The month of May promises much more excitement and learning at Carpenter School. Be sure to read this this newsletter carefully and bookmark it for future reference. It can also be found on our Carpenter School website any time, right here.
Warm regards,
Corinne Rowe
Principal
🌷 April Highlights
😎 Coming in May
Curriculum Nights
Third graders kicked these off with their spectacular wax museum. Next up, grades K, 1, and 2 will have their moments to shine! We are so proud of our Carpenter School learners and are eager to share their accomplishments in the coming weeks. Watch for grade-specific details from your child's teacher. We look forward to seeing you on their special night!
Wolfeboro Bike and Walk Day
Carpenter School is happy to promote this wonderful event hosted by Wolfeboro Parks and Rec on Friday, May 10th. We are so excited to welcome our bikers and walkers to school and give them their "I Biked/Walked to School or Work Today" stickers. We hope that many of our Carpenter School families will choose to participate in this healthy, and fun, community event!
Book Fair
Carpenter School is excited to announce that we will be hosting our Annual BOGO Book Fair, the week of May 13th - May 17th.
Volunteers Needed!
There are several opportunities for approved volunteers coming up, and we need your help to make them a success!
Mrs. Townsend is seeking volunteers for our upcoming book fair. If you love books and want to contribute, reach out to her at stownsend@sau49.org.
Mrs. Deane needs volunteers for outdoor gym classes and field day fun. Contact her at mdeane@sau49.org to get involved.
Your support is invaluable in creating memorable experiences for our students. Thank you for being a part of our school community!
Memorial Day Observance
😊 Reminders
Kindergarten Registration
Registration for the 2024-2025 kindergarten class will be held on May 7th and May 9th at Carpenter School. Students must be five years old by September 30, 2024. The child's birth certificate, immunization records, physical examination paperwork, and proof of residency should be brought to registration. Call 603-569-3457, or email Barb Bamberg, bbamberg@sau49.org, to make an appointment. We are so excited to meet our new friends!
Breakfast and Lunch
This is just a friendly reminder to check in with your account balance and be sure it is kept up to date. It is very easy to lose track of the days and suddenly be faced with an unexpectedly large balance. An easy way to manage payments and track your child's spending is to create an account with myschoolbucks.com.
Dismissal Changes? Don't forget to call!
Afternoons can get very busy here in the Carpenter School office. Please help Mrs. Bamberg, our administrative assistant, and communicate changes to your child's dismissal plans as early in the day as possible (2:30 at the very latest, is preferred). This will ensure that important messages are relayed on time, and avoid any confusion for your child. Please call the school directly or email bbamberg@sau49, to communicate such changes.
Additionally, if your child will be absent from school for any reason, please let us know by 9:00 am.
Thank you!
Playground Hours
A quick reminder that while this is a community playground, it must be closed to the general public during regular Carpenter School hours and school sponsored events, as well as during the evening hours, from dusk to dawn.
PLEASE DO NOT enter the playground, or parking lot, until all buses have left with our students for the day, as this creates a very unsafe situation for kids. Our sincerest thank you for your help with this!
Carpenter School PTO
There are several fun PTO sponsored events planned throughout the coming month. If you would like to learn more or volunteer to help, the next PTO Meeting is on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:30pm. If you are unable to attend, but still wish to be involved, please send an email to: carpenterschoolpto@gmail.com.
