NEW ITEMS THIS WEEK
Inclusive Schools Week (ISW) December 2nd -6th
We will be celebrating Inclusive Schools Week (ISW), December 2-6, 2024. Each year offers a unique theme and the week provides the opportunity for educators, students, and parents to celebrate inclusive education for all students.
This year’s theme, “Every Voice Matters,” echoes the fundamental belief that every individual has a unique perspective and contributes to the rich tapestry of our school communities. Creating more inclusive learning environments, dismantling barriers to participation, and promoting equity and understanding among all members of the school community is crucial for all students.
We will include daily announcements to share ideas about inclusive learning environments and on Thursday, Dec 5th we will Go Green for Growth! We will wear green to show that we all grow together to build a stronger, more engaged community!
Turkey Parade and Lunch with a Grandparent or Loved One

We welcomed 63 visitors for our annual kindergarten Turkey Parade and 194 visitors for lunch!!
PTA is Collecting Gift Card Donations
PTA is collecting donations for our teacher and staff annual holiday punch card game. Teachers and staff will get to punch a random cup and get the items inside. We would like to stuff the cups with at least one $10 gift card and other fun trinkets and prizes like candy, and stocking stuffers.
We need your help with either gift card donations or small trinkets / stocking stuffers (can be dropped off at the front office), or monetary donations. The monetary donations will be used to purchase gift cards in increments of $10, and potentially stocking stuffers as well. We appreciate your help! You can donate here: www.tinyurl.com/LVEHoliday2024.

Next week on Wednesday, November 13th, we will celebrate World Kindness Day. The theme this year is “Make Kindness the Norm.” This link will take you to more information on World Kindness Day: https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/world-kindness-day
On Wednesday at school, we are going to write friendship letters to 3 schools who were impacted by Hurricane Helene in Florida—Essrig Elementary, Annie Lucy Williams Elementary and Lake St. George Elementary. The teachers have received construction paper to have their students write or draw letters to encourage the students as the communities around them recover from Hurricane Helene.
Families are welcome to join in our project. Any notes made at home can be sent in any time next week. Our PTA is going to pay for the letters to be mailed to the schools. The notes do not need to be written to any particular school. Students can sign using their first name only.
Thank you for helping us “Make Kindness the Norm.”
Beth Mullins - School Counselor
This year there are three draft calendars for consideration. Each calendar focuses on supporting teacher planning and preparation for high-quality learning experiences as well as breaks across the year for our Fort Bend ISD families and staff. The school calendar options allocate time for teaching and learning across 187 days and were developed through the work of student, staff, parent, community focus groups, and calendar Core Teams that include teachers, principals, and district staff.
