A message from the principal
We are quickly approaching the end of the first trimester! As colder weather moves in, please remember to send your child to school with appropriate cold-weather gear. Students will go outside unless it is zero degrees or -10 degrees wind chill. Please also remember to label your child's winter gear, including gloves, boots, hats and snowpants. This makes it much easier for us to reunite students with missing items. If you need assistance with purchasing winter gear, please do not hesitate to reach out to our social work team at (763) 506-6043.
Students headed to the polls on Monday to vote for their favorite name for our husky. They were excited to fill in their ballots and get their 'I Voted' stickers! The final choices were Howler, Spirit and Champ. The husky's name will be revealed to students tomorrow!
Tomorrow is the final day for Veterans to RSVP for our Veterans Day program. Please see below for details. We are looking forward to honoring those who have served our country.
As a reminder, report cards will only be available online. Please utilize your Parent Vue account to access student grades after the reporting period ends. If you need assistance with your Parent Vue account, please reach out to the Help Desk at (763) 506-4357 or 506help@ahschools.us.

Veterans Day
We will again be having a schoolwide Veterans Day ceremony on November 11, 2024. We are inviting any Veterans who are available that afternoon to join us for a celebration honoring their service to our nation. The program will begin at 2:35 pm, and we ask that our Veterans arrive at 2:15 pm. Please let us know in advance so that we may set up the appropriate amount of seating for that day. Email Mrs. Becklund at Leah.Becklund@ahschools.us to RSVP by November 8th. Thank you for allowing us to honor you!
Additionally, we are encouraging our students to wear red, white, and blue on that day.

Hello CBPA volunteers! Thank you to those volunteers who helped us last month with field trips, fall parties and Ninja Math - we appreciate your help! We couldn't do it with without assistance of some amazing volunteers
Please see below for what help is currently needed:
Literacy & Math Family Night (Urgent Request): CBPA will be hosting its first Literacy and Math Night on Thursday, November 14th from 5-6:30 p.m. The theme is: Amusement Park Academy: Where Learning is the Main Attraction! We will be having different math and reading activities going on that evening for families to participate in as well as food. Adult volunteers are needed to help in the kitchen with setup, serving and clean up as well as assisting our Mathnasium team with fun math activities. Skillbuilders: Skillbuilders is a program we offer students in grades kindergarten through 2nd grade. Trained volunteers come in typically once a week, during the school day and work with specific students in each of those grade levels with literacy and math comprehension activities. Training is provided for volunteers! We are hoping to get this program started before winter break and it runs continuously throughout the school year. If you have a passion for helping our younger learners this may be the perfect volunteer opportunity! If interested in learning more about this, please reach out to me!
November Lunchroom: We will be continuing to have volunteers assist us in the lunchroom during the month of November. Volunteers will help with getting the students through the serving line, assisting them while they are eating, helping them during lunch dismissal and wiping down tables. The time is 11 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. However, if you are not able to commit to the entire time - that is ok - we will take whatever time you are willing to offer. Just note in your signup what time you will be volunteering! Please click on the links below to see what days help is needed:
Choir Volunteers: Choir rehearsals have started! Volunteers are needed to help Ms. Dille, our music/choir teacher with rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5. You don't have to sing or play a musical instrument to help out! For more details on the tasks involved and to sign up, please click on the link below:

SEL Parent-Teacher Communication
The district is collecting feedback from parents/guardians through a survey on two topics. The first part of the survey relates to your perceptions on social emotional learning and the second part is in regards to parent-teacher communication. The anonymous survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete. You can access the survey using the link below through Friday, November 15th. Your insight is very valuable and will be used to inform decisions across the district. Thank you in advance for your time.
