TBS Tiger Newsletter
September 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are thrilled to share that the opening of the school year has been a resounding success! The new playground is buzzing with activity, and it’s wonderful to see the students enjoying every moment. Our kindergarteners have settled in beautifully, and it’s been a joy to welcome new families into the Three Bridges School community.
Our dedicated veteran and new staff members are working together seamlessly to ensure this will be our best year yet! A huge thank you to the HSA, whose presence and support at Back to School Night was invaluable.
As we look ahead, we’re excited for upcoming events in September like the Book Fair and the Block Party. These are great opportunities to come together as a community, and we can’t wait to see you there!
Yours in tiger spirit,
Kristen HIggins, Ed. D.
Meet Mrs. Lowrie: Our Warm & Welcoming New Office Receptionist!
Hi! My name is Kristy Lowrie. I am so excited to join the Three Bridges family as the new clerical aid. You will see me when you sign your children out and you will hear from me when I call to confirm how your children are going home. I have two daughters, Faith and Serenity. In my spare time I love going on adventures with my family, spending time with my pets, cooking/baking, photography, crafting, restoring furniture, volunteering in my community, and creating events. I am a mental health advocate, as well as an Eagles football fan. I look forward to meeting you all, getting to know your children, and working together with the TBS community. Go Tigers!

Morning Announcements
STEM in Action: Dot Sticker Tower Challenge for International Dot Day
To celebrate International Dot Day on September 15th, second-grade students are taking inspiration from The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds in our first STEM activity of the year. In teams, students are building towers using index cards and dot stickers, and using their math skills to measure the height and width of their structures. This project not only sparks creativity but also ties into our SEL curriculum by encouraging teamwork, perseverance, and collaboration.

Lost and Found Reminder
As we settle into the school year, we kindly remind families to label all of your child's clothing and school items with their name. This simple step will help us quickly return lost items to their rightful owners.

Air Quality Flag Program
Three Bridges School participates in EPA’s Air Quality Flag Program. This program helps our community stay informed about the quality of the air we breathe. Each day, the flag’s color represents the air quality forecast, ranging from good (green) to hazardous (purple). By displaying the flag, on our flag pole we can make informed decisions to protect our health and the environment. It’s a great way to teach students about sustainability and the importance of clean air!
SEL Mission Statement
The Mission of Three Bridges School is to provide a caring, nurturing community where all the students feel secure and accepted. We encourage respect, perseverance, independence, and resiliency to maximize personal and academic growth. We believe our choices can have a positive impact on our world as global citizens; therefore, we strive to lead by example.
District Strategic Goals
- Inquisitive Learning Create and establish an inquiry-based framework that values an interest-driven learning environment. Learners will, individually and collaboratively, focus on identifying, analyzing, and solving problems as inquisitive members of their community.
- Partnerships Establish partnerships that foster meaningful educational opportunities on local, regional, and global scales. Prepare all learners to become engaged and productive citizens through service to others, collaboration, and real-world connections.
- Social Awareness Our learners will feel connected, valued, and secure in digital and non-digital learning environments cultivated by a shared sense of community. Every individual will develop skills that promote an awareness of self and others as well as the environment, including the ability to understand the impact of their decisions.
