CELEBRATIONS
Department Awards
This week we honored top students in each department at the annual Departmental Awards. Teachers in each department chose up to 20 exemplary students with the top grades in their classes. Students received certificates and pens for their outstanding achievement. The Top Senior in each department, based on GPA, also won a medal to be worn at graduation. Congratulations to our standout scholars! For photos of this event, please check out our Instagram post.
College Decision Day
On May 1st, seniors gathered to commemorate a milestone that represented the culmination of hard work, perseverance, and determination. It was College Decision Day, a day of triumph and exhilaration! We celebrated the Class of 2024 with cupcakes, goodies, prizes, pictures, and games! Whether students chose a prestigious institution, a campus that felt like home, or planned to join the military or workforce, we celebrated the beginning of an exciting journey filled with boundless opportunities for growth and discovery. Congratulations to all our graduates-to-be, as you embarked on this thrilling adventure into the realms of higher education! 🎉🎓🥳 Click Here to view (download) more photos of College Decision Day.

All seniors had an opportunity to mark the next destination of their career and college journey.
Track Athletes Head to CIF Finals
Congratulations to the Tiller Track & Field team for their success at Saturday's CIF Competition at Ontario High School! Junior Lauren Tindukasiri finished with an outstanding personal best in the 300m hurdles, going under 49 seconds for the first time. Kaia Tindukasiri finished with bragging rights as an individual CIF qualifier, also in the 300m hurdles, as a sophomore. Moving on to CIF Finals next week are our Boys 4x100m team (MacKenzie Alleyne, Eimesse Essis, Marques Guzman, and Brady Kong). Marques Guzman also qualifies into the CIF D2 Championships in his individual event, the 100-meter dash. Congratulations to these Tillers and best of luck this week!
Varsity Baseball Wins 1st Round CIF
Congratulations to Varsity Baseball for winning their first round CIF game against Estancia on Thursday. Tillers had a complete game shutout of 3-0, led by Nate Walraven. Congrats to all the players and coaches! Baseball now moves on to Round 2 on Tuesday @ 4 pm at Palm Desert. Good luck, Tillers! We are all rooting for you!
Swim Team Finishes Fantastic Season
The Tustin Swim Team just wrapped up an incredible season with 10 student athletes making it to CIF play offs. Sophomore Mary Olsen led the girls team to a 6th place finish in the consolation finals for the 4x200 Medley relay. Our boys team was led by Seniors Josiah Scott and Gio Demuro. Both went lifetime bests in their individual events and secured 8th place medals in the championship finals. Gio also won an 8th place medal in the 100 freestyle and a 6th place medal in the 50 freestyle. He is the first Tustin High swimmer in the past 10 years to earn a CIF State consideration time, finishing 19th in all of CIF-southern Section!
Swimming fast isn’t the only thing we do in aquatics. Our student athletes also took care of business in the classroom, with 28 student athletes earning 3.5 or higher GPA during the season. We are looking forward to building on this success in and out of the pool next year!
Family Art Night
Participants at Wednesday's Family Art Night created bowls for our upcoming Empty Bowls fundraiser! We had so much fun creating art and being together as a Tiller family. Thank you to our Family Art Night Team of Ms. Gray, Ms. Pinter and Mrs. Hsieh for teaching and organizing these events for the Tiller community!
The entire Tustin community is invited to our senior art exhibition and community school fundraiser on May 8 from 5:30-8:00 pm at the Mud Hen. We will be selling handmade ceramics bowls ,which will be filled with nachos courtesy of Nacho Bizness Club!
