March 2023

I know there are a few of you that would prefer that the snow keeps falling. I, on the other hand, am looking forward some warmer temps and longer days! As we look to the near future, the Johnson family will be staying close to home for Spring Break. With my two college boys having the same break as us, we have planned for a couple nights of games and a day trip to Duluth. I hope that as we enter spring break that you have the opportunity to spend some time as a family: board games, day trip(s), or even making a snow fort with the predicted falling of snow.

PTO Meeting: Tuesday, March 7

You are always welcome to attend Johnsville PTO Meetings every third Tuesday of the month (usually). Meetings begin at 6:30pm in the Johnsville Media Center.

Last Day of Trimester II:

Thursday, March 9, is our last day of the trimester. Report cards will be available in ParentVue on Wednesday, March 22 (paper copy will also come home).

Staff Planning/Work Day:

Friday, March 10, is a Staff Planning/Work Day. There is no school for students on this day.

Spring Break:

March 13 to March 17 is Spring Break for the Anoka-Hennepin School District. There is no school for all students. The Anoka-Hennepin School District is closed on March 16 and March 17.

Professional Development Day:

Monday, March 20, is a Professional Development Day. There is no school for all students.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Thank you for taking the time to meet with your child's teacher over the past several weeks. I know that most of you were able to check out the Book Fair. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with the limited time frame that we were allowed to have the Book Fair.

Volunteers

While I believe it was much more fun to put up the "I Love to Read" decorations, I say "thank you" to the many helping hands that helped take down the decorations as well.

Please keep a close look for volunteer opportunities in April. We will need hallway monitors for MCAs and many hands to support our School Carnival. More to come on both. Thank you!

The weather is slowly turning which means one day could be 5 inches of snow and the next we are dodging puddles. Please help our students come prepared for the whacky spring weather of Minnesota.
