With the new trimester, the students in the Endeavor Leadership Team were focused on shifting from adjusting the Endeavor norms and values into electing new members of the leadership team. The Leadership Team wanted to add new members to have a diversity of perspectives. Congratulations Haylie, Emma, and Kiersten on becoming new members of the leadership team! They were elected by their peers in advisory and have started to become acclimated into the team!
STUDENT AGENCY
December Seminars
All seminars are open to any students who are available in Endeavor that hour. They last 1-3 weeks depending on the topic and the advisor. Seminars offered in December were:
Range of Writing - Mrs. Mueller
Fundamentals of Project Based Learning - Mrs. Oswald
Sound Recording and Editing - Mr. Martin
No Red Ink: Sentences and Conjunctions - Mrs. Mueller
Learning in ALEKS math - Mr. Meyer
Literature Studies - Mrs. Webster
“All Quiet on the Western Front”
“Julius Caesar”
Project Presentations
Students must show their evaluator their completed project on Monday of their presentation week before being assigned a presentation date. This new strategy was generated by students and staff as a way to ensure that we are presenting high quality, reflective presentations. Students who do not have their projects fully completed will be moved off the presentation schedule to the next week.
Endeavor Digital Learning
Students who are taking Digital Learning classes in Endeavor must be done with those courses by the end of the trimester. Each course has a pacing guide for the student to know where they should be in the course on any given day.
ALEKS Math
Students doing ALEKS math in Endeavor should be about 55% of the way done with the course. Many students are far beyond this point already. It is important to still do math daily. Students who finish the course before the end of the year can either start the next course or use the rest of the year to do additional learning experiences.
