Dear Edison Families,

The calendar may be quickly inching toward summer but it’s not vacation time just yet. Our entire faculty and staff is working hard to ensure our final days are memorable ones. We look forward to closing out our school year in some more traditional ways with fast approaching in person events and activities. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who are stepping up to help with promotion decorations and other celebrations to end our year! These momentous events are all the more memorable because of your partnership and support

Wrapping up our year also means it’s survey season. Thank you so much for taking 15 minutes this weekend to share you thoughts with us. It is so helpful and our leadership team and I will take time to read every submission related to our school.

• Annual Spring Family Survey: Make Edison an even better experience for all students by letting us know what’s working well here, and what we can do even better!
  
• Are You Returning to Edison Next Year Survey: As we look to finalize plans for students next year we need all families to submit the program/school type you intend for each of your children for the 2022-2023 school year
• After School Day Care Survey: are you interested in after school care for the 2022-2023 school year. This survey will help us to better identify the need for after school care at our school sites and allow us to share this information with our after school providers. This is not an application for any of our after school programs and completing the survey does not guarantee a spot in an afterschool program for the coming school year. Your participation will help us to continue to provide enriching programs and after school care for our students and families.

Lastly, look forward to jumping back in time and seeing you at our 80’s themed Rainbow Run Friday night – another great PFO family engagement event for the whole family!

This year the Ontario-Montclair School District has combined their Summer Academy for Scholars and Athletes (SASA) and Visual and Performing Arts Program (VAPA) programs into one amazing program. OMSD is offering summer school for students. Session one will be for students in grades 2-7th. Sessions two and three will be for students in TK/K - 7th grade. This application is for the district summer program for students in TK/K - 7th grade.

We have planned an exciting program. The locations for the district summer school program are: De Anza Middle School or Vernon Middle School or Elderberry Elementary School or Del Norte Elementary School

Students will have a choice of which site they attend. Meals and snacks will be provided.
Session I: May 31 - June 17, 2022

Session II: July 5 - 15, 2022
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Grades TK/K - 7

Session III: July 25 - Aug. 4, 2022
8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Students will participate in reading, and other activities such as sports, Pilates, music, art, leadership workshops, and teamwork. Each student will be provided their own supplies. Plus students will be going on fieldtrips and we will have special guest speakers!

Students will be placed in small groups. Each day students will rotate through the learning activities with their assigned small summer cohort group. Each student will be provided supplies.

Please complete a separate form for EACH child planning to attend. An email or text confirmation will be sent to confirm your child's enrollment.

Absences should be reported before 9:15 A.M each day your child is absent.

While California Department of Public Health (CDPH) strongly recommends that individuals continue to wear face coverings in indoor settings, the choice to mask is at the discretion of each student, employee, and family.

We will continue to implement the remaining layered mitigation strategies including:

• staying home when sick

• hand washing

• air filtration

• group contact tracing

• antigen and pcr testing

• quarantine

• daily disinfecting and cleaning

Additionally, CDC recommends that everyone 5 years and older protect themselves from COVID-19 by getting vaccinated. Everyone ages 12 years and older should stay up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines and get a booster shot when eligible. Please consult with your primary care physician.

In an effort to maintain a healthy school environment and to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we ask that all parents screen their child for COVID-19 symptoms each morning before they send them to school, and keep them at home if they are sick using our Student Symptom Decision Tree.

This shared responsibility is critical to our ability to keep everyone safe, healthy and attending in person each day.

Please report your child’s illness with details of all symptoms to our health office at 909-984-5618. Our Health Office will follow up on all students that are at home with COVID-19 symptoms.
