Kia Ora Whanau, as I write this we have 10 school days left. But in true IPS fashion, we continue to make the most of every day. Many of our students have recently enjoyed Beach Education at Fitzroy Beach and East End Beach in New Plymouth. They learnt many relevant strategies and tips for safe swimming this summer. We have also had our year 3/4 student enjoying a Big Day Out in Stratford, and a number of student competing and the Tough Kid challenge in Hawera. It is always a pleasure to be at school and to see soo many children enjoying school, enjoying learning and displaying their REACH values in all they do. I wish to acknowledge all of those involved in the organisation and coordination of the Year 8 Dinner Dance tonight. This is always a very special event on the IPS calendar. It is a night to honour our Year 8 students before they make the next big step into secondary school for 2023. Thank you all of the families and extended whanau that we may lose with the year 8's. Your input over the years has been invaluable. We will miss you all. Phillip Reade

On Thursday this week the Senior Kapahaka Group got the opportunity to visit our local rest home to sing and perform for the residents. They sang our songs with pride and then sang a few Christmas songs with the residents joining in with us. Enjoyment was evident to all, once our children got over being a little stage fright. I think the highlight may have been "Feliz navidad" Our tamariki had chilled by then and "Bob the reindeer resident" especially enjoyed joining in. Afterwards little conversations occurred as the children presented our kaumatua with a Christmas card each. One of the carers said it's been months since having children come down to sing, so it would be a talkative rest of the day for the residents.

What a wonderful day out our Year 3 and 4 students had on Tuesday!

We had so much fun exploring around Pioneer Village, trying on the clothing, going on a train ride, tested out the printing machines, played some olden day games and enjoyed seeing the old shops. The Inglewood Town Pools were a hit for everyone as we had the pool to ourselves.

A lunch break at Victoria Park in Stratford brought us all back together for some playing, eating and ice blocks. A special thanks to our whanau for coming along and supporting us on this trip. We always appreciate your support.

Stationery lists will be sent home with all children's school reports. They will also be available on the school website early January.

All stationery can be ordered through Office Products Depot online via their website www.nzschoolshop.co.nz Your order will be sent, with other's orders to school the day before school starts and be waiting in your child's classroom for their first day (if ordered before 23rd January) or alternatively you can have this delivered to your home address. Adjust item quantities and add any optional extras as desired. Check out and pay (through the secure payment gateway) using a Credit or Debit Card via Paypal, Internet Banking or AfterPay.

We love our new way of strengthening our home-school partnership.

We start this off with a "Learning Transition Partnership Day" which will be Monday 30 January. On this day we will be having 15 minute slots with each student and family in their homeroom class.

This time slot is about informing the 2023 teacher of anything they will need to know about your child, socially, wellbeing, learning difficulties, or special talents and skills they may have. We will learn about your child's and family's strengths and ideas you may have to contribut to learning opportunities at axhool.

Our teachers will be focussed on each family, listening and planning for a successful 2023. We encourage all families to attend, even if you or your child knows their 2023 teacher. Our feedback has highlighted that this is a fantastic opportunity to have a positive transition into our new school year. We look forward to seeing. Further information on how to book to book will be available before the end of term.

We are in the process of organizing our 2023 year ahead. If you know your family are moving or leaving us, could you please let us know as soon as possible. This doesn't include Y8s of course.

If you or you know of anyone, wishing to enrol their child at Inglewood Primary School, please get them to email the Office with the child's name, date of birth, parent's name and contact number, so we can put them on our pre-enrolment list. This is for both IN ZONE and OUT of Zone Enrolments

We have a number of ailments doing the rounds at school. Chicken Pox is one of these once again.

Please also check your childs hair as we have head lice within the school at present.

Our current school roll is 397. Welcome to Ari Mitchell, Xane' Snyman and Lea Snyman who have joined us at IPS this week.

Happy Birthday to Ari Mitchell, Mason Allardice and Tillie O'Carroll who celebrate their birthday's this week.

It’s time!!!! Can all uniform that has been issued over our winter sports season is to be returned to school.

Singlets, tees, netball dresses, jackets, rugby tops can be dropped off to Puke Haupapa White in exchange for a little thank you for bringing it in promptly!

For our students safety, if you don't have a 2022 Car Park Pass from the office, please do not drive up the driveway to drop off or pick up your children.

We have 400 children using the Kelly Street entrance and it becomes a little congested.

If you do have a pass, please BACK into the car parks when you park your vehicle. This enables you to drive out safely without backing around with children walking past.

Thank you for helping to keep our children safe.

We are having a number of dogs on the school property after school and in the weekends. Our lovely students don't like walking or falling over in dog poo left on the school grounds. IPS has a no dog policy on the school grounds.

Christmas Raffle: Thank you for your support and donations for of our Annual Christmas Raffle. We have been overwhelmed by your generosity. Congratulations to our two winners - Stacy Chapman and Debbie Carter.

Below are the school lunch menus for the next four weeks. These will roll over to the following four weeks.

Enrolment at Inglewood School is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available on the school website or from the school office.

The board is now inviting applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Inglewood Primary School starting within Term 1 2023.

All applications must be received by 3pm Monday 23 January for Term 1 2023. If a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be held on Wednesday 25 January 2023. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

The board has determined that 20 places from Year 1-8 are likely to be available for out-of-zone students within Term 1 2023. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone. Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the year should notify the school to assist the school to plan appropriately.

The application form for enrolment is available from the school website, or from the school office.

Please note, that if the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

Details relating to the next enrolment period Term 2 2023 will be published March 2023.
