Bogota Middle School Update
October 20, 2023
Dear Bogota Parents/Guardians:
Parent/Teacher Conferences are set for October 24, 25, and 26. On those days, students will have one session days. Teachers are in the process of contacting parents, should a meeting be needed.
Please see the PTO Section below for information on the BMS Trunk or Treat and how to purchase Spirit Wear. Please do not forget to send in your PTO dues!!! We are hoping to make this a special year for all of our students and it is through your assistance and donations that we can make that possible. The class with the most dues gets brownies made by Ms. Antoinette Cruz Ramirez!
This is an important remind to fill out your media consent form! We still have some parent/guardians that have not yet done so.
I ask that you make sure that your children are following the dress code when they come to school each day. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
Should you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Christopher Albiez
BMS Principal
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is Here!
RED RIBBON WEEK is celebrated annually from October 23 through 31. Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. It presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year.
Please see below for next week's schedule.
A Look Back at the Week
7th Grade Civics
Students in Mrs. Del Rosso’s seventh grade Civics learned this week about the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta was written in the year 1215 a.d. by English Noblemen or Barons to force King John of England to protect their rights. The Magna Carta also limited the power the King or monarchy had. This document would later influence ideas of democracy. Students discussed in small groups how the Magna Carta compares to what they already know of modern government practices.
