Departing October 2024
A new Year 5 residential opportunity, camping at Penshurst Place, Kent
Back to nature with friends
A central campfire for stories and songs
Experienced leaders
The visit will be led by a team from the Bushcraft Company, a highly experienced school travel operator, all staff are well trained in outdoors learning, are safeguarding trained and DBS checked.
A team of staff from St Cecilia's, led by Miss Fry will accompany the children. We will be sleeping in tents in a circle around a central campfire and meeting area.
Meals
We will have all our meals and snacks at Camp Wilderness, there is a catering team there to look after us and our dietary needs. On the second night the children will be making their own pizzas in a wood fired oven within the camp.
Packing list
The children must wear informal clothing, warm tracksuits will be ideal, a rain jacket and trainers
Each child will need a roll mat, sleeping bag and pillow. An example packing list is shown on the parent information leaflet, attached below. We will update this as we get closer to the visit and check the weather!
Cost
The visit is £189 plus transport. The school will aim to subsidise this visit and pay for transportation. With some fundraising from the children in school, we hope that this will bring the cost down to £150 per child. For children in receipt of Pupil Premium the cost is £75 per child.
