Week 2 - July 24th, 2023
Message from the Principal
Dear Spartans,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you today to reflect on the first week of school. I am so proud of our Spartans for all of their hard work and dedication.
I was especially impressed by the way our students and staff came together to welcome our new students. We had a great experience on Friday during our no-backpack day, and I heard many positive comments from our students and staff.
I was also pleased to see the high level of engagement in our classrooms. Our teachers are doing a great job of getting right to work and, at the same time, providing opportunities for students and staff to get to know each other.
Of course, no start of a school year is perfect. We had a few issues with student schedules this week, but I am confident that our team of counselors will be able to address them over the next few days so students have the best class schedules possible. As I mentioned before, schedules will be fluid during the first ten days of school as we work to balance class sizes and teacher contractual student counts. We appreciate your patience during this process.
Overall, I am very happy with the way the first week of school has gone. I am excited to see what the rest of the year holds for our Spartans. Thank you for being a part of our school community. I look forward to working with you to make this year a success.
Sincerely,
Julio Alcala

Student Drop-Off and Gate Locations
Gates will be open for students to enter campus at 8:00am. We will have four entry points with designated drop off areas for students. Those are marked on the map with a blue arrow:
#1 North 100, drop off point is the driveway in the front of the 100 building.
#2 South 100, drop off point is the parking lot in front of the GYM.
#3 Youth Center, drop off point is the Youth Center parking lot on L street (before school program)
#4 K Street Gate, drop off point is on K street.
These areas will also serve as pick up points for students after school. For the safety of all, please make sure you observe all traffic patterns and rules. Also please note, supervision on campus will begin at 8:00am when the main campus gates are open. If you need to drop off your student earlier, please drop them off on gate 3, our Youth Center entrance starting at 7:15am. Here, we will provide a safe, supervised place through our before/after school program for your student to wait for the main campus to open.
Student Class Schedules
Student class schedules will be continued to be worked on through the first ten days of the academic year. Our counseling team is working to balance classes, adhere to contractual class caps and make sure that students have full schedules. Please understand that schedules might change so we ask that you please be patient with us as we undergo this process.
