Elm Road Express June 2020

I would like to thank the PTO for the many ways they assisted us in making the end of the year special. The virtual camp experience was a treat for our fifth grade students. I would also like to thank the many staff members who assisted us with the drop-off and pick-up duties. It took several staff members countless hours to prepare for the pick up days in June. Summer school begins soon! As we prepare for these summer eLearning days, we ask that the students are on their computers for the summer school hours. This format will be different than our eLearning days in that we will have some "live" experiences for students.

Please remember to check our district's website as we post information about summer food programs and information about the upcoming school year. I wish you and your family a safe and happy summer. I look forward to seeing everyone soon!

We did it!!! Our students and staff have worked so hard the past two years to receive the recognition of STEM certification through the state department. Many students, parents, staff, and community members played a large role in allowing us to achieve this honor. Thank you for your hard work!I

I have loved getting to know all the staff and families at Elm Road this year! The staff, students and families have been so welcoming and kind! From the first day I began working at Elm, I knew it was a special place, and I am very sad that I will not be returning in the fall. I will be joining the staff at Meadow's Edge as their Assistant to the Principal. I will greatly miss the Elm Road family!

You've probably heard the statement "So many books, so little time" - I had so many books that I wanted to share with all of you. I missed our time together twice a week in the library. I hope you enjoyed the few that I read aloud for your eLearning. Please keep finding books to read or listen to throughout the summer. You can find books on the internet from many sources, and the public libraries are soon to be starting curbside pick up of books until they open up again.

Have a great summer as you enjoy so many things in a new way. Im looking forward to hearing about your experiences when we are together again.

Hello Elm Road Eagles,

I want to wish you a fantastic summer vacation. Hopefully, you will enjoy your break doing all the things you enjoy. Make sure to try new things, practice the skills you learned during the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons, read a book, and have fun! I truly enjoyed being in your class this year during the SEL lessons. Looking forward to what next school year has to offer.

Reminder: The Indiana Department of Education put together a “Healthy Hoosier Family” fitness challenge for all K-3 and now there is one for 4th-7th grade students as well students. Here is the link to the program.
