Peace Arch Elementary News

On behalf of all the staff, I'd like to thank our parent community for their support in making this another successful year at Peace Arch Elementary. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer and come back refreshed and ready for the excitement of a new school year in September.

Our lost and found items for this year are outside the office and will be sent to charity if not claimed by Thursday (today) at 2:00 p.m. Please come take a look to see if your child(ren) have any lost items.

Sadly, this is the time of year where we need to say some good-byes to some Peace Arch staff members as they head off to new schools and adventures in the fall.

Recognition of Staff leaving Peace Arch

Ms. Crnkovich (Vice Principal) ...........will be going to TE Scott Elementary as a Vice - Principal

Mr. Simpson (Grade 1 Teacher)..........going to Sullivan Elementary

Ms. Marno (Grade 4 Teacher)......will be going to a new school in the fall (to be determined)

Ms. Westcott (Kindergarten Teacher)....going to Edgewood Elementary

Ms. Hagen (Band Teacher)..................will be retiring at the end of this school year

Ms. Choi (Inclusion Support Teacher)........will be going to Chimney Hill as an IST

Ms. Cote (Grade One Teacher) ..........will decide what the future holds in the fall

Ms. Iarkov (Grade One Teacher).......will be teaching at Martha Currie in the fall

Ms. Talstra (Grade One Teacher)......will be teaching at Panorama Park in the fall

Ms. Gribble (LST) ...........................will be going to HT Thrift Elementary next year.( and is hopeful to return to Peace Arch LST as well. )

Ms. Tawfeeq (EA) ...........................Will be going to a new school in the fall

Ms. Badawi (EA)..............................Will be going to a new school in the fall

SEPTEMBER WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

*If your child will be away for the first day of school, please inform the office to prevent de-registration of your child.

First Day Procedures

Tuesday, September 5th, 2023

Students will be in attendance Tuesday, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am only.

Students report to last year’s classroom.

New students

Please come to the office and our support staff will take you to the appropriate classroom.

Kindergarten Students:

Kindergarten students will have their own gradual entry schedules and that information will be sent to all new families coming to Peace Arch and posted on our School's Website in late August.

Registration:

Registration for new students is online through the Surrey School District's Website and parents can register their children anytime. If you know of any students new to our area who will be attending Peace Arch in September, please pass this information on.

School Hours:

The school office will resume summer hours on August 28th, 2023 from 9:00 – 2:00 pm.
