Pirates Post
Week of June 6th
Message from Principal Drew...
Congratulations to Coach Roberson and the entire Baseball team on winning their 2nd consecutive state championship this past weekend. This is the first time in school history that a team has won back to back state championships at PCHS. Congratulations to series MVP Tanner Thach and all of our Senior baseball players for finishing out their amazing careers with another state title.
Parents and students this is the final week of school for the 2021-2022 school year. This means that final exams will be taking place this week. 1st Period exams will be given on Monday. 2nd Period exams will be given on Tuesday. 3rd Period exams will be given on Wednesday and 4th period exams will be given on Thursday. Friday will be a day for makeup exams for all periods.
During this week if students choose to leave after the exam period each day they will need to submit a written note to the main office prior to the start of the exam period. Students will not be excused from school until the exam period is over and all exams have been completed. An announcement will be made each day when the exam period has ended. Once again, students can not leave until the exam period is over even if they finish early. This means that all students should take their time and do their very best each day on their exams. Students should get a full night's rest prior to each exam and eat breakfast each day before starting their exam.
Cell phones and smart watches are not allowed in the testing site. These devices should be left at home or in student vehicles rather than brought into school on exam days. Any devices that students bring into the building will be collected by their test administrator and will not be returned until the testing session is complete.
Monday and Tuesday are full days of school and we will dismiss at 3:05 on these days. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are early release days for the PCHS and we will dismiss at 12:30 on those days.
In addition to exams there are several other things happening this week at Perquimans County High School:
Monday night our Athletic Booster club will host all Senior Athletes and their guest at 6:00 PM at Open Door Church in Edenton for a banquet to honor their commitment to PCHS over the years as an athlete.
Our band will hold their banquet on Tuesday at 6:00.
Graduation is being held on Wednesday at 1:30. All Seniors are required to attend practice on this day. We will meet in the gym at 1:30. Tickets for graduation will be given out at the end of practice.
Graduation will be held on Friday night at 7:30 on the football field. In the event of inclement weather we will hold graduation in the gym on Friday at 7:30. If we are in the gym, only those with a ticket will be able to attend graduation.
Summer school begins on June 14th. The student day will be from 8:00 until 11:30 each day for summer school. Summer school will end on June 24th. Invitations to summer school will be shared with students as exam results are finalized this week.
