Our Week at Reutter School
Week of September 25, 2023
Principal's Message
Reutter School Families:
As we conclude our beginning of the year diagnostic assessments, it was wonderful to see instruction based upon our curriculum occurring within our classrooms this week. Students were provided opportunities to freshen up on their mathematical computation strategies, selected reading novels, and conducted hands-on science experiments this week in their classes. For me, seeing these various forms instruction delivered to our students truly marks the beginning of the academic year.
In two weeks, our students will have the opportunity to participate in our First Friday activity. First Friday is a unique opportunity at Reutter School where students are mixed between both grade levels to learn about various, non-traditional concepts. We have a variety of learning concepts in store for our students this year including cooking, balloon art, macramé, jewelry making, and kickboxing along with many others.
First Friday serves as both an enrichment experience for our students and a way to thank them for being a positive, well-rounded student at Reutter School. Unfortunately, students who violate our code of conduct, have attendance concerns, or have not demonstrated positive work habits will not be able to participate in these fun learning activities. Our specific expectations for students to participate in First Friday include: a. Students are not able to accumulate any more than 3 unexcused absences or lates to school for the month prior to the First Friday activity; b. Students are to have no more than two missing or incomplete major summative assessments/ assignments between all of their classes during the month prior to the First Friday activity; c. Students are to be in good standing in regard to their behavior.
Educationally Yours,
Mr. Peters
Principal

A Message from Mrs. Zorzi, School Nurse
Welcome back to school! All parents/guardians are reminded about some important information regarding medications, immunizations, and health concerns.
Sixth Grade Immunizations
All students entering the sixth grade (after their 11th birthday) are required to receive the following two immunizations prior to starting school on September 6th:
1.Tdap
2. Meningococcal
Please consult you child’s physician to schedule an appointment for you child to receive these immunizations prior to the start of the school year. It is important to send your child’s immunization’s record to the school nurse. Students will be excluded from school if they do not have their mandated immunizations.
Medical Concerns/Medications
If you child has any medical concerns or needs to take medications during the school day please contact the school nurse.
Please keep in mind that a doctor’s note is required every school year for any medications to be given in school.
Food Allergies
We have several students in our school who have allergies to peanuts and other foods. Please be aware of this concern when sending in treats.
We look forward to a healthy and safe school year!!!
Notes regarding Medical – Related Absences must be submitted to the school’s main office within one week of the child’s absence for the child to not be considered truant.
