A Message from Principal Stephens
Dear Patterson Pride,
The holiday season is the perfect time to acknowledge the things that make us feel thankful and grateful. I am so proud to be part of the PRIDE community as you have such big hearts. I want to share a special thank you to our 6th graders for serving at Feed My Starving Children, our 3rd graders for coordinating a food drive for the Chandler CARE Center, Student Council for organizing beanies and socks for veterans, and our 5th graders who are currently coordinating our Patterson Giving Tree in order to donate toys to the Chandler CARE Center. The spirit of kindness and “Paying it Forward” is in our Patterson culture.
We are grateful for our Patterson Pride community for supporting our teachers, and most importantly, our children. Patterson is a better school because of you! On behalf of the Patterson staff, we wish you a festive, joyful, and fun winter season. Spend time with friends and family and enjoy the moments that matter most.
We look forward to the New Year and watching your children continue to grow.
Sincerely,
Sarah Stephens
Patterson PRIDE Principal

Library Corner with Ms. Hufford
The library is "jingling" through this busy season with some exciting events! Our next Birthday Book Club celebrating October, November, and December birthdays will occur on Friday, December 8. You should have already received the invitation in November. If you have misplaced this, please print another here. These invitations and financial donations are due by Tuesday, December 5. Once again, we thank you for your donations to the library and the students of Patterson.
We also have a local author, Kailei Pew visiting our school on December 15. She will be reading her book, "The Monster Above the Bed" and speaking to students about the writing process. I am sure she will be very inspiring to our young readers and writers. If you are interested in learning more or pre-ordering an autographed copy of her book as a gift, use the QR code on the attached flyer by December 10.
Finally, be sure and save the date for our first ever February Scholastic Book Fair. I have a feeling this one is going to sneak up on us after the holidays. Fair dates will be February 9-16th. A volunteer schedule and sign up will be available in January.
Kindness Club with Mrs. Landon
If your child likes to do crafts with cutting and gluing and coloring, this club is for you! In Kindness Club, Mrs. Landon chooses a book such as, “How Full is Your Bucket?” and we do a corresponding craft. For that story, we created a real kindness bucket with a plastic cup, pipe cleaners, stickers, and markers. Even though our “bucket” is imaginary, we could focus on being kind and filling people’s buckets throughout each day. Each week we have a different story and craft to promote kindness and to have some fun, creative time together. Students will bring home the projects each time we meet. For 3rd quarter we are inviting 1st grade students to attend. Register through Community Education. We will meet Tuesday mornings at 7:45am. Mrs. Landon dismisses the students to go directly to their classrooms at 8:30. Here is the link to our club:

Tax Credit Donations
Tax credit donations can be made anytime and can be credited to your child's extra curricular activity fees. The tax credit reduces your tax burden to the state of Arizona, dollar for dollar. It also reduces your taxable income to the federal government.
Our school uses tax credit donations for enrichment opportunities such as fieldtrips, assemblies, art masterpiece, clubs and many other activities.
To donate, visit the tax credit donation page on our CUSD website: Click Here or contact Shelley Krason, office manager at Patterson Elementary for more information and/or to donate at the school by cash or check. 480-224-3607; krason.shelley@cusd80.com
Thank you so much for your support of Patterson Elementary Students.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found is overflowing with jackets, water bottles and other random items that are not labeled with a student's name. Please remind your child to check for their belongings. On December 22nd all items left will be donated to charity.
