We hope you’ve enjoyed your short week! Thank you to all of the students and staff who participated in our PSAT 9 and PSAT NMSQT on Wednesday, as well as all Mustang families for accommodating our adjusted schedule. This was a powerful opportunity for students to practice the exam, staff to collect updated student achievement data, and students to potentially earn significant scholarships!

Next week, we are looking forward to Family Conferences on Thursday, 10/20 and Friday, 10/21. We will be sending communication to all students and families on Friday afternoon (10/14) with details about how to schedule virtual conferences with staff.

• October 20th from 1:30-5:30 - Ms. Trainor will be in the MSHS Media Center to help any students with their college applications and/or scholarship applications. Get assistance during this time!
  
• October 20th at 5:30pm Colorado College will be in our media center to do a presentation and answer questions on all types of Financial Aid.

Congratulations to longtime Manitou Springs football coach George Rykovich for his election into the CHSAA Hall of Fame! Ryko led the Mustangs to 222 wins (17th all-time in state history) and two state championships (1987 and 1990) in his time coaching the team from 1971-2006. We invite former players and alumni to congratulate Coach Rykovich at halftime of the La Junta game on Oct. 21. Rykovich is the second Manitou Springs High School representative to be elected to the hall of fame with Justin Armour being the first. Ryko will formally be inducted into the CHSAA Hall of Fame on Jan. 23, 2023. Tickets will be available to the induction ceremony, and we will pass along that information as soon as we get it.

The Robotics Team participated in the Kendrick Castillo Memorial Tournament last week. This was the first competition style meet for the new group, and they all had involvement in problem solving and decision making. The Robotics Team is looking forward to more competition during the winter season. A big shout out to co-captains - Madison C. and Dylan M.!

Team members competed most recently in a competition at Woodland Park High School!

Club de Español students were learning the basic steps of Salsa dancing, they had a blast. Check out these Mustang Moves!
