Sherwood Schools: District Updates

The Sherwood School District Board of Directors has approved interdistrict transfer slots at all grade levels for the 2023-24 school year, and the application window is now open. Applications for non-resident students transferring into the District will remain open until 4:00pm on March 31st, with all applications received by that date entered into a lottery for approval. Remaining unfilled slots after March 31 will be available first-come, first-served.

Join the Sherwood School District Special Education Parent Partnership! Student Services will be hosting their next Parent Partnership meeting on Wednesday, March 22nd from 7:00pm-8:30pm at the District Office. The goal of the Special Education Parent Partnership meetings are to build positive connections and relationships with parents of students in Special Education. These meetings provide an opportunity to learn more about special education and network with professionals and parents who have a passion for supporting students with disabilities. We are now accepting applications for the 2023-24 school year for our Pre-Kindergarten programs at Hawks View, Ridges, and Middleton elementaries. For more information and application instructions, please click the link below.

The Sherwood School District is excited to continue our Spanish/English Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Program at Hawks View Elementary in the fall of 2023. We will be in our fourth year of the program, with classes in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades, as well as an incoming Kindergarten class for the fall 2023 . A Dual Language Immersion Program has the goal of promoting bilingualism, bi-literacy, and socio-cultural competence.

Applications are now open for a next year's DLI Kindergarten class, with a balance of Native English and Spanish speakers. There may be few slots open in our first grade class as well. If you applied last year, you will remain on the waiting list and do not need to re-apply.

The Grad Night 2024 Committee will be hosting a bingo fundraiser on Wednesday, March 15, 7:00-9:00pm at the Sherwood Elks Lodge (22770 SW Elwert Road).

• $20 for 10-game bingo packet and dobber at the door
• $70 pre-sale special: 4-pack of 10-game bingo packet and dobbers
• $5 per Blackout game (sold separately)

For pre-purchase of the 4-pack special or Blackout game tickets, please pay directly with Venmo (SHSGradNight2024) or PayPal (Sherwood High School Grad Night Class of 2024). When pre-purchasing, please include name, phone number, email, and the number of 4-packs and/or Blackout games you are purchasing.

Food and drink will be available for purchase by the Elks Lodge.

Sherwood Band Boosters is thrilled to announce their largest fundraiser of the year is right around the corner!
