TCGC Section Donations
Dear Parents,
The Johnson Band Boosters have been given the opportunity to host a Color Guard Competition again this year! This is one of the most successful fundraisers of the year for the BAND & GUARD! PLEASE KNOW that this is not a fundraiser that benefits the Color Guard only, our goal is for this fundraiser to raise $18,000 to our entire Band & Guard Program! (Projection based on previous years success.)
To do this, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Keeping our expenses low ensures we can keep our profits high. The ask is a simple one - send in your assigned item(s) for the Concession Stand! Feel free to send in more than one of what is requested, and encourage your section to participate. Items can be placed in Mr. Lucita's office and once inventoried by TCGC Section Donation Coordinator, Kayla Luongo, they will be moved to storage. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
The TCGC Color Guard Competition at JHS will be held on Saturday, March 16th. We do not choose the date, it is assigned to us. Sign-ups for volunteers to help us between now and March 16th and on the day of the competition will be out soon.

Please contribute to and help share the fundraiser to help send Varsity to the World Championships! See below.
The week ahead:
2/20 practice: Varsity only. John Escalante will be working with the group so practice will be closed until the last 30 minutes of practice. (8:30pm) Reminder of black attire, water jugs, half shoes, and hair back and out of your face please!
Friendly reminder that we could use ALL the help we can get to unload and move the props from the trailer to the gym tomorrow morning! We must start unloading the trailer at 9am. It takes muscle to unload and load that trailer so, DADS, we need you! Thanks in advance for your help!
2/24 practice: We will NOT be competing in the TCGC @ Smithson Valley. Instead, both teams will have practices on that day. This will enable both teams to complete and polish their shows before competitions on 3/2.
JV: 9am - 4pm
Varsity: 12 - 9pm
Feb. 28th Middle School recruiting (Varsity only)
Varsity will perform for two separate audiences: grades 7 & 8 showings
Performances will take place between 12-1pm
Students will need to bring a lunch on that day
- Varsity PARENTS: Students who drive are invited to drive themselves. Student drivers over the age of 18 can drive more than one student, if the student has received permission from their parent. Student drivers age 18 and younger can take only one student; again, this is only allowable if the student has received permission from their parent. We anticipate needing some adult drivers. Please contact Ida or Michelle Silva if you are willing to be a driver on that day.
- FLOOR / BUILD CREW: We will be taking the floor and bars (no stairs). Mr. J is going to ask Mr. Lucita if he can pull the white trailer. Mr. J will let us know ASAP if we need someone else to pull it.
MMS recruiting will be scheduled sometime after spring break

Italy 2025
We are thrilled to share the fantastic news that the Moe & Gene Johnson Jaguar Band and Guard will embark on a memorable journey to Italy in the spring of 2025! This long-awaited plan is now officially confirmed, and we extend a warm invitation to our students and their families to seize this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Here is a link to the Anticipated Itinerary.
Date: The trip is tentatively scheduled for March 17-21.
Cost: The cost of this extraordinary experience is $3995.00, covering the significant majority of all expenses. Please be aware that the cost excludes lunches, allowing students and adults the flexibility to choose their preferred dining experience during smaller group tours.
Payments: All payments will be directly made to the travel company, Next Level Initiatives, in association with Perform America - TX, LLC. Detailed instructions can be found in the document linked above under "Registration and Payment Process."
Who: This incredible opportunity is open to all Band and Guard members enrolled at Johnson HS as 9th-12th grade students during the 2024-2025 school year, and their immediate families. This is the 2023-2024 9th – 11th grade members at JHS and the 2023-2024 8th grade members at DMS and MMS.
Documents: To get more insight into this exciting venture, we encourage you to review the Anticipated Itinerary and the Registration and Payment Process documents. Find the links to these documents here: Anticipated Itinerary | Registration and Payment Process
We look forward to embarking on this remarkable journey together and creating lasting memories with the Moe & Gene Johnson Jaguar Band and Guard. There will be an in-person meeting in the future to discuss details once we begin to get an idea of how many travelers we will have. Let's make this trip to Italy an unforgettable experience! We wanted to get this information into the hands of the parents and students ASAP in order for everyone to have the opportunity to participate!

FUNDRAISING
Gift Cards & E-Gift Cards
Looking at buying gift cards for your personal use or to give as gifts?
You can purchase gift cards through our Raise Right gift card fundraiser and our organization earns back a percentage of the value of the gift card. Many gift cards are digital gift cards which means you can purchase them right before you head to the store or restaurant! The donation to the band / percentage does sometimes change, with certain gift cards running promotions with a higher value of "give back" amounts so check back on your favorite stores often!
