Hickman Mills C-1 School District is excited to kick off the "My Hope" campaign. Each week, we will feature a hope from a student or staff member on our social media platforms and website. January Applause Applause Honoree

Congratulations to our January Applause Applause Honoree, Freda Markley student Nikkolas N!

Nikkolas has attended Freda Markley for the past three years. During this school year, he has shown up for all zoom sessions, and is always ready to learn and work hard. He is thoughtful and respectful to his classmates and teachers. Thank you for being an outstanding student, Nikkolas!

Above and Beyond Awardee

Congratulations to Jalen D. for earning Superintendent Obeng’s Above and Beyond Award! Jalen is an academic star as well as a 3-year letterman for the Boys Basketball team. He is always willing to go the extra mile. Pre-pandemic, he was an enthusiastic and dedicated participant in Ruskin’s Harvesters food distribution program. Jalen's positive attitude has truly been an inspiration throughout these unpredictable times. He recently received high praise from a parent from an opposing basketball team. She applauded him for his leadership and character in stressful situations. Way to go Jalen!

HMC-1 Teacher Recognized as WIDA'S Featured Educator

Congratulations to Dr. HeeGyoung Song for being recognized as WIDA’s January 2021 Featured Educator!

WIDA is a nationally recognized organization that supports students, families, educators and administrators with high-quality, research-based tools and resources, dedicated to language development for multilingual learners.

Dr. Song strives to ensure that all ELD students receive the support they need, keeping them excited and involved in their learning – even in the virtual setting.

“I can’t sit back and relax,” said Dr. Song. “I continue to train myself to be a good teacher for my students who are going to be change agents and make a difference in the world.”

WHEN: Wednesdays ONLY, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
WHERE: Compass, Dobbs, Ervin, Ingels, Ruskin, Santa Fe, Truman, Warford via curbside pick up
HOW: Reserve meals TODAY for every Wednesday the rest of the semester. They are also available to you day of if you forget to reserve.
