What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
We have several activities planned for students this coming week to celebrate the end of the year. We can't believe that Friday, June 3rd is our last day of school! As a reminder, there is no school this Monday in honor of Memorial Day.
LOST AND FOUND - Our lost and found continues to overflow. Please take a few minutes to click on the LINK to see if anything belongs to your family. All remaining items will be donated on June 10th. Please email omsoffice@sd25.org if you recognize an item and we will return it to your child.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Erin, Julia, and the OMS staff
June 3rd - Last Day of School Dismissal
On June 3rd we will have an indoor parade for our 5th graders to walk the halls of OMS before being dismissed. We welcome our families to create a high-five tunnel beginning near the kindergarten doors so that 5th graders can be cheered on as they exit the building. 5th graders may exit the building a few minutes early (3:30ish) so that we can dismiss our kindergarten through 4th graders as we normally would at 3:35pm.
VOLUNTEER THANK YOU
"Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless."
Sherry Anderson
One of the hardest thank you's to write is that one to volunteers. Tangible items can be used and enjoyed. Intangible things, like the giving of your time, are a lot harder to convey gratitude for. The impact and importance of your gift of time, and skills, to the students and staff of Olive-Mary Stitt is immeasurable. Because of you, we are who we are. You are busy, but you still made a choice to make a difference with no expectations of recognition in return. Please know you have made a difference, and our appreciation goes well beyond words of gratitude. Thank you for your unwavering generous time and support. One day, we all hope to grow up like you.

Summer Reading
Students, are you looking for suggestions for good books to read over the summer? The District 25 library media center directors have put together lists of recommended books. We invite you to visit the OMS LMC website Summer Reading page to download a copy of the book lists for grades K-2 and grades 3-5. Also included on the site are slideshows which highlight the books and provide links to AHML library to learn more.
MOVING? NOT ATTENDING OMS NEXT YEAR?
If you are moving or registering your child at another school for next year, although you may have already told your classroom teacher, you must also let the OMS office know of your plans. Please email the office as soon as possible at OMSoffice@sd25.org so that we may plan accordingly for getting your student's files to their new school.
** This includes 5th-grade students. We need to notify the middle school that your child will not be moving up to the middle school.**
