We are an IB school. This means that we have to plan OUR lessons around both GCPS standards and International Baccalaureate standards. OUR teachers do a great job of making it work. Your 8th grade student may be asked to take the NAEP test in the subject of Science on Thursday, February 29, 2024. Please ensure your 8th grade student is present on this day. This test measures current knowledge in Science and reports these findings to the National Center for Education Statistics within the U.S. Department of Education. This test measures common achievement across the country. Your student will be notified by their science teacher if they are selected to sit for this test and will report to the testing location on the day of the test with a pass.

8th grade science was working on 3D models of the atom. A great project, with great results. Some of OUR students are really proud of their results. Thanks to 8th grade Science for their hard work: students and teachers!
