On Saturday, February 10th, McConnell viola players participated in a unique district Orchestra event called Violapalooza. They rehearsed and performed with 200 violists (grades 6-12) from all over Gwinnett County. Students were also treated to a special performance by two professional violists (Top Picture).
James, Jay, Britton, Eloise, and Sophia represented McConnell at the District 13 Honor Band Weekend. These students completed an arduous audition process in December and earned a seat in this prestigious ensemble, which is comprised of the best middle school musicians in Gwinnett County. They learned and performed a high-level concert in just a day and a half! Congratulations! (Bottom Picture)
