Wright Way Club Wins Big
Thank you to all the families who supported the Wright Way Club's fundraiser, "Candy That Matters," by helping the club raise $641 for the organization, After School Matters. Please watch a video of the fundraiser and visit the school's Google Doc folder to see pictures of the activity.
AMC 8 Math Contest
Students are invited to participate in the independent American Mathematics Competition 8, a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes toward analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers.
- Register on the RevTrak Web Store for the $5 contest.
- The deadline to register is Friday, Dec. 2.
- Students enrolled in Math Team are already automatically enrolled in the AMC 8.
- The contest date is Monday, Jan. 23, after school. Students may take the PASS bus home or be picked up at 4:45 p.m.
Support Our Military and First Responders
Consider participating in a fundraiser to support our military and first responders by joining a pushup contest sponsored by the DW Leaders in Learning Club.
Instructions:
- Fill out Google Pledge Form to participate.
- Get pledges from friends, neighbors, and family members.
- Pushup competition takes place Friday Nov. 18, during physical education classes.
- Collect money raised for contest and turn into Mrs. Vincent, Room 211, no later than Monday, Nov. 21.
- Heroes Dinner planned for military and first responders on Thursday, Jan. 26.
World Language Placement Test
Eighth-graders with coursework or experience, Heritage, or Native speakers interested in Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, or Latin must register for the benchmark exam scheduled for Saturday, Dec.17. Please visit the Stevenson High School website for more information and to register for the exam. The deadline to register is Monday, Dec. 12.
Let’s Taco ’Bout It Thursday!
This weekly get together is an alternative space to meet new friends, hang out, and eat lunch together! On Thursdays students are invited to join classmates in the following rooms. (Bring your own lunch.)

Chorus Concert “From Dusk ‘til Dawn” begins at 7 p.m. this evening, Nov. 3, at Daniel Wright. Performers should arrive at 6:15 p.m.
Rebecca Caudill contest
The Rebecca Caudill contest is in full swing! Read three titles, answer three quick questions on the Caudill brochure, and you can vote for your favorite book in February! Caudill brochures are available in the DW library!

Gift Your Child's Artwork
D103 PTO is partnering with Square 1 Art to provide families a variety of products that can be purchased and customized with your student’s artwork!
This fundraiser is open to all D103 students and their families. Anyone feeling artistic may participate. There is no requirement to be a student at a D103 school. Students are encouraged to create artwork at home that will showcase their unique artistry. Act fast, the deadline to order is Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Lincolnshire Lights
Kick off the holiday season at Lincolnshire Lights! From lighting the 40-foot holiday tree and caroling performances to DIY crafts and pictures with Santa, Lincolnshire Lights is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season with your family. Join us at Village Green from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. Enjoy performances by musical artists from Daniel Wright and Half Day.
Poster Design Contest
Stevenson High School’s Fine Arts Department needs your artwork! Submit a poster design for our Consortium Orchestra, Choir, Band, and Jazz Concerts Submissions are due: Thursday, Dec. 1. Please see the Poster Design Contest for details.
The Center for Gifted
The Center for Gifted Fall Wonders Program in Long Grove is open for registration for grades 1-5. There are weekend classes through December. There are class details, information, and application forms on The Center for Gifted website.
