These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. On behalf of everyone in District 41, Superintendent Kaczkowski thanked Board members for their governance, leadership and commitment. She also recognized Jess Buttimer and Ted Estes for being honored by the Illinois Association of School Boards.

Presentations

ECRA Data Presentation | watch

Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Accountability Dr. Kris Webster shared the ECRA State Percentile Analysis Report and explained the way the percentiles work and what they measure. The information was provided as background information before the school improvement presentations. Click here for the presentation.
Benjamin Franklin School Improvement Plan

Principal Jeff Burke and Assistant Principal Jamie Linder presented an update on academic achievement at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. He also shared data about student attendance and Humanex data about staff culture and climate in the school. Board members asked questions and engaged in conversation about the information presented by the administrators.

Dr. Kaczkowski shared information about the School Report Cards available online on the district website.

Mental Health Resources Update | watch

Dr. Kaczkowski presented an update about the new mental health resources being planned for outside of the school day to support students and families. These resources are being funded through a federal grant. She introduced two individuals working with District 41 to provide the resources. They introduced themselves and explained the resources in more detail.

School Maintenance Grant | watch

Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter provided information about a grant being submitted by District 41 to help fund maintenance.

Special Education Transportation - First Alt | watch

Mr. DePorter explained a business model that is offered by the company First Alt. The district is looking to add their services to our transportation program to support special education transportation. This service would be used until the end of the school year as a short-term solution.

2023 FY Levy Presentation | watch

Mr. DePorter presented step two of three prior to authorizing the 2023 tax levy. He explained how the levy is calculated.
